Command (2/3)

  • A wise man will heed commandments,
but a babbling fool will come to grief.
  • Whoever observes the commandments will live,
but the one who scorns them will die.
  • The precepts of the Lord are right,
    causing the heart to rejoice.
The commands of the Lord are clear,
    giving light to the eyes.
  • Therefore, observe the commandments of the Lord, your God. Walk in his ways and fear him.
  • I have not strayed from the commandments of his lips;
I have treasured in my heart the words of his mouth.
  • The Lord commanded us to observe all of these statutes and to fear the Lord, our God, so that we might always prosper and be kept alive, even as we are today.
  • Continue in all of the ways that the Lord, your God, has commanded you. Continue in them so that you may live and prosper and that you may long dwell on the land of your inheritance.
  • Take heed to follow the commandments and the laws that Moses, the servant of the Lord, gave you: to love the Lord, your God, and to walk in his ways and to observe his commandments, holding fast to him and serving him with all your heart and all your soul.
  • Seek the Lord,
all you humble of the land
    who obey his commands.
    Seek righteousness, seek humility;
then perhaps you may find shelter
on the day of the Lord’s anger.
  • We have sinned and done what is wrong, we have acted wickedly and rebelled, we have rejected your commandments and your laws.
  • Therefore, whoever breaks even one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be considered least in the kingdom of heaven. But whoever observes these commandments and teaches them will be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
  • You shall take heed to observe the commandments of the Lord, your God, and the decrees and statutes that he has given to you.
  • He proclaimed his covenant to you which he ordered you to fulfill, the Ten Commandments, that he wrote upon two tablets of stone.
  • This is the end of my teaching.
    All has been heard.
Fear God and keep his commandments,
for that is the responsibility of everyone.
  • All those who keep his commandments abide in him,
    and he abides in them.
And the proof that he abides in us
is the Spirit that he has given us.
  • Remember that you were once a slave in the land of Egypt. The Lord, your God, brought you out from there with a mighty hand and an outstretched arm. Therefore, the Lord, your God, has commanded you to observe the Sabbath day.
  • Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the world.
  • It is the Lord, your God, whom you are to follow. You must fear him and observe his commandments and obey what he tells you and serve him and hold fast to him.
  • My son, do not forget my teaching,
but cherish my commandments in your heart,
for they will bring you length of days,
more years of life, and an abundance of prosperity.
  • Oh, that they would have fear of me in their hearts and they would observe all of my commandments always. Then things would go well with them and their children forever.
  • Anyone who has received my commandments
    and observes them
is the one who loves me.
    And whoever loves me
will be loved by my Father,
    and I will love him
    and reveal myself to him.
  • The Lord said to Moses, “Climb up to me on the mountain and remain there. I will give you stone tablets with the laws and commandments that I have written for their instruction.”
  • Moses remained with the Lord for forty days and forty nights without eating bread or drinking water. And he wrote the words of the covenant, the Ten Commandments, on the tablets.
  • He is the reflection of God’s glory
and the perfect expression of his very being,
sustaining all things by his powerful word.
    Achieving purification from sins,
he took his seat at the right hand of the Majesty on high.
  • Beloved,
if our hearts do not condemn us,
we can approach God with confidence
and receive from him whatever we ask,
    because we obey his commandments
and do whatever is pleasing to him.

Keep in mind, therefore, that the Lord, your God, is God. He is a faithful God who keeps his covenant of mercy to the thousandth generation toward those who love him and observe his commandments.

Those who place their hope in the Lord
will regain their strength.
They will soar as with eagles’ wings,
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not become faint.
