- See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil.
- So teach us to number our days,

Forever. - Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long upon the land which the Lord your God is giving you.

Cease to do evil. - Depart from evil and do good;
Seek peace and pursue it. - Go, gather all the Jews who are present in Shushan, and fast for me; neither eat nor drink for three days, night or day. My maids and I will fast likewise. And so I will go to the king, which is against the law; and if I perish, I perish!

For length of days and long life

And to inquire in His temple. - Keep your tongue from evil,
And your lips from speaking deceit. - See that no one renders evil for evil to anyone, but always pursue what is good both for yourselves and for all.
- Not returning evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary blessing, knowing that you were called to this, that you may inherit a blessing.
- Do not turn to the right or the left;
Remove your foot from evil. - Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil. Cling to what is good.
- Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord your God. In it you shall do no work: you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger who is within your gates. For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it.
- And do not lead us into temptation,
But deliver us from the evil one.
For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen. - Because the sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil.
- Deceit is in the heart of those who devise evil,
But counselors of peace have joy. - Test all things; hold fast what is good. Abstain from every form of evil.
- For where envy and self-seeking exist, confusion and every evil thing are there.
- But the Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one.
- Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake.
- But let your ‘Yes’ be ‘Yes,’ and your ‘No,’ ‘No.’ For whatever is more than these is from the evil one.
- I do not pray that You should take them out of the world, but that You should keep them from the evil one.
- For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous,
And His ears are open to their prayers;
But the face of the Lord is against those who do evil. - “Do not be like your fathers, to whom the former prophets preached, saying, ‘Thus says the Lord of hosts: “Turn now from your evil ways and your evil deeds.” ’ But they did not hear nor heed Me,” says the Lord.
- You shall walk in all the ways which the Lord your God has commanded you, that you may live and that it may be well with you, and that you may prolong your days in the land which you shall possess.
- Here is what I have seen: It is good and fitting for one to eat and drink, and to enjoy the good of all his labor in which he toils under the sun all the days of his life which God gives him; for it is his heritage.
- Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil;

And when they exclude you,
And revile you, and cast out your name as evil,

So the Lord God of hosts will be with you,

He preserves the souls of His saints;
He delivers them out of the hand of the wicked. - Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am tempted by God”; for God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does He Himself tempt anyone.
- Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold, wise men from the East came to Jerusalem, saying, “Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we have seen His star in the East and have come to worship Him.”
- The face of the Lord is against those who do evil,
To cut off the remembrance of them from the earth. - A prudent man foresees evil and hides himself;
The simple pass on and are punished. - Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
- Beware, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief in departing from the living God.
- And the Lord will deliver me from every evil work and preserve me for His heavenly kingdom. To Him be glory forever and ever. Amen!
- Do not be wise in your own eyes;
Fear the Lord and depart from evil.
It will be health to your flesh,
And strength to your bones.
