Bible Verses about 'Days are evil'
- So then, be careful how you walk, not as unwise people but as wise, making the most of your time, because the days are evil.
- Remember also your Creator in the days of your youth, before the evil days come and the years approach when you will say, “I have no pleasure in them”.
- Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
- For,
“The one who desires life, to love and see good days,
Must keep his tongue from evil and his lips from speaking deceit.
He must turn away from evil and do good;
He must seek peace and pursue it.” - So teach us to number our days,
That we may present to You a heart of wisdom. - Do not say, “Why is it that the former days were better than these?”
For it is not from wisdom that you ask about this. - Now Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan and was led around by the Spirit in the wilderness for forty days, being tempted by the devil. And He ate nothing during those days, and when they had ended, He was hungry.
- Certainly goodness and faithfulness will follow me all the days of my life,
And my dwelling will be in the house of the Lord forever. - The fear of the Lord is to hate evil;
Pride, arrogance, the evil way,
And the perverted mouth, I hate. - Wash yourselves, make yourselves clean;
Remove the evil of your deeds from My sight.
Stop doing evil. - Honor your father and your mother, so that your days may be prolonged on the land which the Lord your God gives you.
- Turn from evil and do good;
Seek peace and pursue it. - Because the sentence against an evil deed is not executed quickly, therefore the hearts of the sons of mankind among them are fully given to do evil.
- The good person out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth what is good; and the evil person out of the evil treasure brings forth what is evil; for his mouth speaks from that which fills his heart.
- See that no one repays another with evil for evil, but always seek what is good for one another and for all people.
- Keep your tongue from evil
And your lips from speaking deceit. - So he was there with the Lord for forty days and forty nights; he did not eat bread or drink water. And He wrote on the tablets the words of the covenant, the Ten Commandments.
- Not returning evil for evil or insult for insult, but giving a blessing instead; for you were called for the very purpose that you would inherit a blessing.
- For six days work may be done, but on the seventh day there is a Sabbath of complete rest, a holy convocation. You shall not do any work; it is a Sabbath to the Lord in all your dwellings.
- One thing I have asked from the Lord, that I shall seek:
That I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life,
To behold the beauty of the Lord
And to meditate in His temple. - My son, do not forget my teaching,
But have your heart comply with my commandments;
For length of days and years of life
And peace they will add to you. - Go, gather all the Jews who are found in Susa, and fast for me; do not eat or drink for three days, night or day. I and my attendants also will fast in the same way. And then I will go in to the king, which is not in accordance with the law; and if I perish, I perish.
- Do not turn to the right or to the left;
Turn your foot from evil. - And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
- Love must be free of hypocrisy. Detest what is evil; cling to what is good.
- Blessed are you when people insult you and persecute you, and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of Me.
- Deceit is in the heart of those who devise evil,
But counselors of peace have joy. - But the Lord is faithful, and He will strengthen and protect you from the evil one.
- But make sure your statement is, ‘Yes, yes’ or ‘No, no’; anything beyond these is of evil origin.
- Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I fear no evil, for You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. - Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. For six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath of the Lord your God; on it you shall not do any work, you, or your son, or your daughter, your male slave or your female slave, or your cattle, or your resident who stays with you. For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea and everything that is in them, and He rested on the seventh day; for that reason the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.
- But examine everything; hold firmly to that which is good, abstain from every form of evil.
- But as for you, Bethlehem Ephrathah,
Too little to be among the clans of Judah,
From you One will come forth for Me to be ruler in Israel.
His times of coming forth are from long ago,
From the days of eternity. - I am not asking You to take them out of the world, but to keep them away from the evil one.
- Blessed are you when the people hate you, and when they exclude you, and insult you, and scorn your name as evil, on account of the Son of Man.
- “Do not be like your fathers, to whom the former prophets proclaimed, saying, ‘This is what the Lord of armies says: “Return now from your evil ways and from your evil deeds.” ’ But they did not listen or pay attention to Me,” declares the Lord.
- Seek good and not evil, so that you may live;
And so may the Lord God of armies be with you,
Just as you have said! - You shall walk entirely in the way which the Lord your God has commanded you, so that you may live and that it may be well for you, and that you may prolong your days in the land which you will possess.
- Hate evil, you who love the Lord,
Who watches over the souls of His godly ones;
He saves them from the hand of the wicked. - For where jealousy and selfish ambition exist, there is disorder and every evil thing.
- No one is to say when he is tempted, “I am being tempted by God”; for God cannot be tempted by evil, and He Himself does not tempt anyone.
- Act as free people, and do not use your freedom as a covering for evil, but use it as bond-servants of God.
- Therefore, take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist on the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm.
- Do not be wise in your own eyes;
Fear the Lord and turn away from evil.
It will be healing to your body
And refreshment to your bones. - The Lord will rescue me from every evil deed, and will bring me safely to His heavenly kingdom; to Him be the glory forever and ever. Amen.
- Therefore, treat the parts of your earthly body as dead to sexual immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and greed, which amounts to idolatry.
- Take care, brothers and sisters, that there will not be in any one of you an evil, unbelieving heart that falls away from the living God.
- When God saw their deeds, that they turned from their evil way, then God relented of the disaster which He had declared He would bring on them. So He did not do it.
- Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold, magi from the east arrived in Jerusalem, saying, “Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we saw His star in the east and have come to worship Him.”
- So if you, despite being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him?
