- You believe that there is one God. You do well to assert that. But even the demons believe and tremble.
- Jesus answered them, “Amen, I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only will you do what has been done to this fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, ‘Be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ it will be accomplished.”
- Do not swerve either to the right or to the left;
keep your foot far from evil. - He said to them in reply, “Anyone who has two coats must share with the person who has none, and whoever has food must do likewise.”
- But to those of you who are listening to me, I say: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you.

- For the carved images of the nations are powerless;
they are nothing more than wood cut from a forest,

Do not be afraid of them,

- Do not be deceived; God cannot be mocked. A person will reap only what he sows.

- Do not assert that the past was better than the present,
for such a statement is not a sign of wisdom. - Do not be afraid or dismayed, the Lord will go before you; he will not fail or forsake you.
- Do not associate with unbelievers. For what basis can there be for a partnership between righteousness and lawlessness? What do light and darkness have in common?
- Because the sentence for committing an evil act is not carried out quickly, people’s hearts are prone to act wickedly.
- I have given you a command. Be strong and brave, do not be afraid nor dismayed. I, the Lord, your God, will be with you wherever you go.
- If you know me,
then you will know my Father also.
From now on you do know him.
You have seen him. - And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God who has marked you with his seal for the day of redemption.
- Thus says the Lord of hosts: Render fair judgments, and show kindness and compassion to one another. Do not oppress the widow, the orphan, the alien, or the poor. Do not plot evil in your heart against one another.
- Can someone hide in a secret place
so that I cannot see him?
Do I not fill heaven and earth? - Live in harmony with one another. Do not consider yourself to be better than others, but associate with the lowly, and never be conceited.
- But if you do not forgive others, then your Father will not forgive your transgressions.
- But what I tell you is this: Do not swear at all, either by heaven, since it is God’s throne, or by earth, since that is his footstool, or by Jerusalem, since that is the city of the great King.
- Do you suppose that I cannot appeal to my Father for help and he will not immediately send me more than twelve legions of angels?
- Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.
- Do not forsake your friend or the friend of your father,
and do not run to your brother’s house when troubles befall you;
far better is a friend nearby
than a brother who is far away.
