- And if you do good to those who do good to you, what benefit is that to you? For even sinners do the same.

your law is within my heart. - Why do you see the speck that is in your brother's eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye?

dwell in the land and befriend faithfulness. - And when you pray, do not heap up empty phrases as the Gentiles do, for they think that they will be heard for their many words.
- To do righteousness and justice
is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice. - Get wisdom; get insight;
do not forget, and do not turn away from the words of my mouth. - Whatever you ask in my name, this I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
- Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
- In God, whose word I praise,
in God I trust; I shall not be afraid.
What can flesh do to me? - So we can confidently say,
“The Lord is my helper;
I will not fear;
what can man do to me?” - Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse them.
- But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience.
- Teach me to do your will,
for you are my God!
Let your good Spirit lead me
on level ground! - Do not be deceived: “Bad company ruins good morals.”
- Do not toil to acquire wealth;
be discerning enough to desist. - Of how much more value is a man than a sheep! So it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath.
- So then let us not sleep, as others do, but let us keep awake and be sober.
- Learn to do good;
seek justice,
correct oppression;
bring justice to the fatherless,
plead the widow's cause. - So you shall keep my commandments and do them: I am the Lord.
- The face of the Lord is against those who do evil,
to cut off the memory of them from the earth. - As you do not know the way the spirit comes to the bones in the womb of a woman with child, so you do not know the work of God who makes everything.
- You believe that God is one; you do well. Even the demons believe—and shudder!
- Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.
- Do not swerve to the right or to the left;
turn your foot away from evil. - When God saw what they did, how they turned from their evil way, God relented of the disaster that he had said he would do to them, and he did not do it.
- Every athlete exercises self-control in all things. They do it to receive a perishable wreath, but we an imperishable.
- Therefore, stay awake, for you do not know on what day your Lord is coming.
- Thus, when you give to the needy, sound no trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may be praised by others. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward.
- If we say we have fellowship with him while we walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth.
- Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap.
- I do not nullify the grace of God, for if righteousness were through the law, then Christ died for no purpose.
- I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.
- Because the sentence against an evil deed is not executed speedily, the heart of the children of man is fully set to do evil.
- Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
- And Jesus answered them, “Truly, I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt, you will not only do what has been done to the fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ it will happen.”
- For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous,
and his ears are open to their prayer.
But the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.
