- And who is he who will harm you if you become followers of what is good?
- And you, fathers, do not provoke your children to wrath, but bring them up in the training and admonition of the Lord.
- “Can anyone hide himself in secret places,
So I shall not see him?” says the Lord;
“Do I not fill heaven and earth?” says the Lord. - My son, keep your father’s command,
And do not forsake the law of your mother. - Give to everyone who asks of you. And from him who takes away your goods do not ask them back.
- For God is not unjust to forget your work and labor of love which you have shown toward His name, in that you have ministered to the saints, and do minister.
- Defend the poor and fatherless;
Do justice to the afflicted and needy. - Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness?
- He has shown you, O man, what is good;
And what does the Lord require of you
But to do justly,
To love mercy,
And to walk humbly with your God? - Do not think that I came to bring peace on earth. I did not come to bring peace but a sword.
- The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do, and the God of peace will be with you.
- And may the Lord make you increase and abound in love to one another and to all, just as we do to you.
- And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.
- Thus says the Lord of hosts:
‘Execute true justice,
Show mercy and compassion
Everyone to his brother.
Do not oppress the widow or the fatherless,
The alien or the poor.
Let none of you plan evil in his heart
Against his brother.’ - For
“He who would love life
And see good days,
Let him refrain his tongue from evil,
And his lips from speaking deceit.
Let him turn away from evil and do good;
Let him seek peace and pursue it.” - But even if you should suffer for righteousness’ sake, you are blessed. “And do not be afraid of their threats, nor be troubled.”
- Therefore you shall keep My commandments, and perform them: I am the Lord.
- For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin.
- But when Jesus heard it, He answered him, saying, “Do not be afraid; only believe, and she will be made well.”
- Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.
- Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?
- Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill.
- Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.
- But when you do a charitable deed, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, that your charitable deed may be in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will Himself reward you openly.
- Six days shall work be done, but the seventh day is a Sabbath of solemn rest, a holy convocation. You shall do no work on it; it is the Sabbath of the Lord in all your dwellings.
