- But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.
- It is a trap to dedicate something rashly
and only later to consider one’s vows. - So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.
- Do not lie to each other, since you have taken off your old self with its practices and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator.
- Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult. On the contrary, repay evil with blessing, because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing.
- And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.
- So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.
- Whenever you are arrested and brought to trial, do not worry beforehand about what to say. Just say whatever is given you at the time, for it is not you speaking, but the Holy Spirit.
- Live as free people, but do not use your freedom as a cover-up for evil; live as God’s slaves.
- All day long he craves for more,
but the righteous give without sparing. - See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him.
