FOR IT IS GOD WHO WORKS IN YOU TO AND WILL (4/4)

On God rests my salvation and my glory; my mighty rock, my refuge is God.My victory and honor come from God alone. He is my refuge, a rock where no enemy can reach me.
Oh, how abundant is your goodness, which you have stored up for those who fear you and worked for those who take refuge in you, in the sight of the children of mankind! How great is the goodness you have stored up for those who fear you. You lavish it on those who come to you for protection, blessing them before the watching world.
So that by God's will I may come to you with joy and be refreshed in your company. Then, by the will of God, I will be able to come to you with a joyful heart, and we will be an encouragement to each other.
And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ. And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.
Know therefore today, and lay it to your heart, that the Lord is God in heaven above and on the earth beneath; there is no other. So remember this and keep it firmly in mind: The Lord is God both in heaven and on earth, and there is no other.
In God, whose word I praise, in God I trust; I shall not be afraid. What can flesh do to me?I praise God for what he has promised. I trust in God, so why should I be afraid? What can mere mortals do to me?
This God—his way is perfect; the word of the Lord proves true; he is a shield for all those who take refuge in him.God’s way is perfect. All the Lord’s promises prove true. He is a shield for all who look to him for protection.
For it has been granted to you that for the sake of Christ you should not only believe in him but also suffer for his sake. For you have been given not only the privilege of trusting in Christ but also the privilege of suffering for him.
Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.When you follow the desires of your sinful nature, the results are very clear: sexual immorality, impurity, lustful pleasures, idolatry, sorcery, hostility, quarreling, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambition, dissension, division, envy, drunkenness, wild parties, and other sins like these. Let me tell you again, as I have before, that anyone living that sort of life will not inherit the Kingdom of God.
For every house is built by someone, but the builder of all things is God.For every house has a builder, but the one who built everything is God.
This God—his way is perfect; the word of the Lord proves true; he is a shield for all those who take refuge in him.God’s way is perfect. All the Lord’s promises prove true. He is a shield for all who look to him for protection.
Now who is there to harm you if you are zealous for what is good? Now, who will want to harm you if you are eager to do good?
And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose. And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.
It is well with the man who deals generously and lends; who conducts his affairs with justice.Good comes to those who lend money generously and conduct their business fairly.
Therefore let us leave the elementary doctrine of Christ and go on to maturity, not laying again a foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God, and of instruction about washings, the laying on of hands, the resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgment. So let us stop going over the basic teachings about Christ again and again. Let us go on instead and become mature in our understanding. Surely we don’t need to start again with the fundamental importance of repenting from evil deeds and placing our faith in God. You don’t need further instruction about baptisms, the laying on of hands, the resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgment.
But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience. But if we look forward to something we don’t yet have, we must wait patiently and confidently.
O God, you are my God; earnestly I seek you; my soul thirsts for you; my flesh faints for you, as in a dry and weary land where there is no water.O God, you are my God; I earnestly search for you. My soul thirsts for you; my whole body longs for you in this parched and weary land where there is no water.
As you do not know the way the spirit comes to the bones in the womb of a woman with child, so you do not know the work of God who makes everything.Just as you cannot understand the path of the wind or the mystery of a tiny baby growing in its mother’s womb, so you cannot understand the activity of God, who does all things.
Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you.
When you vow a vow to God, do not delay paying it, for he has no pleasure in fools. Pay what you vow. When you make a promise to God, don’t delay in following through, for God takes no pleasure in fools. Keep all the promises you make to him.
And he took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to them, saying, “This is my body, which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me.”He took some bread and gave thanks to God for it. Then he broke it in pieces and gave it to the disciples, saying, “This is my body, which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me.”
And I tell you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.And so I tell you, keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you.
But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. But thank God! He gives us victory over sin and death through our Lord Jesus Christ.
All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation. And all of this is a gift from God, who brought us back to himself through Christ. And God has given us this task of reconciling people to him.
But I say to you who hear, Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who abuse you.But to you who are willing to listen, I say, love your enemies! Do good to those who hate you. Bless those who curse you. Pray for those who hurt you.
