your walls are continually before me. - And Joseph also went up from Galilee, from the town of Nazareth, to Judea, to the city of David, which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and lineage of David, to be registered with Mary, his betrothed, who was with child.
- Since you have been born again, not of perishable seed but of imperishable, through the living and abiding word of God.
- A wise son makes a glad father,
but a foolish son is a sorrow to his mother. - Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.
- As you do not know the way the spirit comes to the bones in the womb of a woman with child, so you do not know the work of God who makes everything.
- Help us, O God of our salvation,
for the glory of your name;
deliver us, and atone for our sins,
for your name's sake! - And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.
- For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.
- In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.
- No one has ever seen God; if we love one another, God abides in us and his love is perfected in us.
