Forbid (3/4)

  • If another disciple sins, you must rebuke the offender, and if there is repentance, you must forgive. And if the same person sins against you seven times a day, and turns back to you seven times and says, ‘I repent,’ you must forgive.
  • Then he took a cup, and after giving thanks he gave it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you; for this is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.”
  • He said, “Then put away the foreign gods that are among you, and incline your hearts to the Lord, the God of Israel.”
  • Then Jesus said, “Father, forgive them; for they do not know what they are doing.” And they cast lots to divide his clothing.
  • He was there with the Lord forty days and forty nights; he neither ate bread nor drank water. And he wrote on the tablets the words of the covenant, the ten commandments.
  • If we confess our sins, he who is faithful and just will forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
  • Do not say, “Why were the former days better than these?”
    For it is not from wisdom that you ask this.
  • Nevertheless, in your great mercies you did not make an end of them or forsake them, for you are a gracious and merciful God.
  • For what will it profit them if they gain the whole world but forfeit their life? Or what will they give in return for their life?
  • It is the Lord who goes before you. He will be with you; he will not fail you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.
  • When I fed them, they were satisfied;
    they were satisfied, and their heart was proud;
    therefore they forgot me.
  • Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.
  • To our God and Father be glory forever and ever. Amen.
  • Keep your lives free from the love of money, and be content with what you have; for he has said, “I will never leave you or forsake you.”
  • But I will sing of your might;
    I will sing aloud of your steadfast love in the morning.
    For you have been a fortress for me
    and a refuge in the day of my distress.
  • You who live in the shelter of the Most High,
    who abide in the shadow of the Almighty,
    will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress;
    my God, in whom I trust.”
  • One sabbath he was going through the grainfields; and as they made their way his disciples began to pluck heads of grain. The Pharisees said to him, “Look, why are they doing what is not lawful on the sabbath?” And he said to them, “Have you never read what David did when he and his companions were hungry and in need of food? He entered the house of God, when Abiathar was high priest, and ate the bread of the Presence, which it is not lawful for any but the priests to eat, and he gave some to his companions.” Then he said to them, “The sabbath was made for humankind, and not humankind for the sabbath; so the Son of Man is lord even of the sabbath.”
  • For the righteous will never be moved;
    they will be remembered forever.
  • For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you abstain from fornication;
    that each one of you know how to control your own body in holiness and honor,
    not with lustful passion, like the Gentiles who do not know God.
  • Be strong and bold; have no fear or dread of them, because it is the Lord your God who goes with you; he will not fail you or forsake you.
  • Let it be known to you therefore, my brothers, that through this man forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you; by this Jesus everyone who believes is set free from all those sins from which you could not be freed by the law of Moses.
  • Peter said to them, “Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ so that your sins may be forgiven; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.”
  • Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? Yet not one of them is forgotten in God's sight. But even the hairs of your head are all counted. Do not be afraid; you are of more value than many sparrows.
  • Your decrees are my heritage forever;
    they are the joy of my heart.
  • I love you, O Lord, my strength.
    The Lord is my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer,
    my God, my rock in whom I take refuge,
    my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.

I will extol you, my God and King,
and bless your name forever and ever.
