- And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness:
God was manifest in the flesh,
justified in the Spirit,
seen of angels,
preached unto the Gentiles,
believed on in the world,
received up into glory. - The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom:
and the knowledge of the holy is understanding. - The name of the Lord is a strong tower:
the righteous runneth into it, and is safe. - But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.
- And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.
- To him that is afflicted pity should be shewed from his friend;
but he forsaketh the fear of the Almighty. - For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.
- Arise, shine; for thy light is come,
and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee. - And set up over his head his accusation written, This Is Jesus The King Of The Jews.
- Behold, happy is the man whom God correcteth:
therefore despise not thou the chastening of the Almighty. - The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen.
- The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable:
but the mouth of the wicked speaketh frowardness. - Open thy mouth, judge righteously,
and plead the cause of the poor and needy. - God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.
- The fear of the Lord is the instruction of wisdom;
and before honour is humility. - Some trust in chariots, and some in horses:
but we will remember the name of the Lord our God. - For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead.
- The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge:
but fools despise wisdom and instruction. - The way of the Lord is strength to the upright:
but destruction shall be to the workers of iniquity. - He loveth righteousness and judgment:
the earth is full of the goodness of the Lord. - Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
- Many are the afflictions of the righteous:
but the Lord delivereth him out of them all. - The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.
- Blessed is the man that trusteth in the Lord,
and whose hope the Lord is.
For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters,
and that spreadeth out her roots by the river,
and shall not see when heat cometh,
but her leaf shall be green;
and shall not be careful in the year of drought,
neither shall cease from yielding fruit. - Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.
For we walk by faith, not by sight.
