Then, when they had fasted, prayed, and laid their hands on them, they sent them away. | Then, having fasted and prayed, and laid hands on them, they sent them away. |
Or can a person walk on hot coals And his feet not be scorched? | Can one walk on hot coals, And his feet not be seared? |
|
The one who overcomes, I will grant to him to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat with My Father on His throne. | To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne. |
Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God remains in him, and he in God. | Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God. |
My soul thirsts for God, for the living God; When shall I come and appear before God? | My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When shall I come and appear before God? |
For “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” | For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.” |
Therefore know today, and take it to your heart, that the Lord, He is God in heaven above and on the earth below; there is no other. | Therefore know this day, and consider it in your heart, that the Lord Himself is God in heaven above and on the earth beneath; there is no other. |
You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. | You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. |
The one who believes in the Son has eternal life; but the one who does not obey the Son will not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him. | He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him. |
And it shall be that everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. | And it shall come to pass That whoever calls on the name of the Lord Shall be saved. |
I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; and whatever you bind on earth shall have been bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall have been loosed in heaven. | And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven. |
So, as those who have been chosen of God, holy and beloved, put on a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. | Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering. |
For this reason also God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth. | Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth. |
Stand firm therefore, having belted your waist with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having strapped on your feet the preparation of the gospel of peace; in addition to all, taking up the shield of faith with which you will be able to extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. | Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. |
The Lord God is my strength, And He has made my feet like deer’s feet, And has me walk on my high places. | The Lord God is my strength; He will make my feet like deer’s feet, And He will make me walk on my high hills. |
The one who does not love does not know God, because God is love. | He who does not love does not know God, for God is love. |
And as I began to speak, the Holy Spirit fell upon them just as He did upon us at the beginning. | And as I began to speak, the Holy Spirit fell upon them, as upon us at the beginning. |
Stop striving and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted on the earth. | Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth! |
Therefore, take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist on the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm. | Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. |
Now Jesus was teaching in one of the synagogues on the Sabbath. And there was a woman who for eighteen years had had a sickness caused by a spirit; and she was bent over double, and could not straighten up at all. When Jesus saw her, He called her over and said to her, “Woman, you are freed from your sickness.” And He laid His hands on her; and immediately she stood up straight again, and began glorifying God. But the synagogue leader, indignant because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath, began saying to the crowd in response, “There are six days during which work should be done; so come during them and get healed, and not on the Sabbath day.” But the Lord answered him and said, “You hypocrites, does each of you on the Sabbath not untie his ox or donkey from the stall and lead it away to water it? And this woman, a daughter of Abraham as she is, whom Satan has bound for eighteen long years, should she not have been released from this restraint on the Sabbath day?” And as He said this, all His opponents were being humiliated; and the entire crowd was rejoicing over all the glorious things being done by Him. | Now He was teaching in one of the synagogues on the Sabbath. And behold, there was a woman who had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and was bent over and could in no way raise herself up. But when Jesus saw her, He called her to Him and said to her, “Woman, you are loosed from your infirmity.” And He laid His hands on her, and immediately she was made straight, and glorified God. But the ruler of the synagogue answered with indignation, because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath; and he said to the crowd, “There are six days on which men ought to work; therefore come and be healed on them, and not on the Sabbath day.” The Lord then answered him and said, “Hypocrite! Does not each one of you on the Sabbath loose his ox or donkey from the stall, and lead it away to water it? So ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan has bound—think of it—for eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the Sabbath?” And when He said these things, all His adversaries were put to shame; and all the multitude rejoiced for all the glorious things that were done by Him. |
Having cast all your anxiety on Him, because He cares about you. | Casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you. |
For who is God, but the Lord? And who is a rock, except our God? | For who is God, except the Lord? And who is a rock, except our God? |
Therefore leaving the elementary teaching about the Christ, let us press on to maturity, not laying again a foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God, of instruction about washings and laying on of hands, and about the resurrection of the dead and eternal judgment. | Therefore, leaving the discussion of the elementary principles of Christ, let us go on to perfection, not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God, of the doctrine of baptisms, of laying on of hands, of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment. |
May my teaching drip as the rain, My speech trickle as the dew, As droplets on the fresh grass, And as the showers on the vegetation. | Let my teaching drop as the rain, My speech distill as the dew, As raindrops on the tender herb, And as showers on the grass. |
For who is God, except the Lord? And who is a rock, except our God? | For who is God, except the Lord? And who is a rock, except our God? |
