- Give justice to the poor and the orphan;
uphold the rights of the oppressed and the destitute. - Give thanks to the Lord and proclaim his greatness.
Let the whole world know what he has done. - And I tell you this, you must give an account on judgment day for every idle word you speak.
- All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is our merciful Father and the source of all comfort. He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us.
- You have given me your shield of victory.
Your right hand supports me;
your help has made me great.
You have made a wide path for my feet
to keep them from slipping. - I thank and praise you, God of my ancestors,
for you have given me wisdom and strength.
You have told me what we asked of you
and revealed to us what the king demanded. - Wealth and honor come from you alone, for you rule over everything. Power and might are in your hand, and at your discretion people are made great and given strength.
- If you cling to your life, you will lose it; but if you give up your life for me, you will find it.
- Give, and you will receive. Your gift will return to you in full—pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, running over, and poured into your lap. The amount you give will determine the amount you get back.
- For a child is born to us,
a son is given to us.
The government will rest on his shoulders.
And he will be called:
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. - Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.
- Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.”
- He took some bread and gave thanks to God for it. Then he broke it in pieces and gave it to the disciples, saying, “This is my body, which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me.”
- That is why we never give up. Though our bodies are dying, our spirits are being renewed every day.
- Since he did not spare even his own Son but gave him up for us all, won’t he also give us everything else?
- Give your burdens to the Lord,
and he will take care of you.
He will not permit the godly to slip and fall. - And since we know he hears us when we make our requests, we also know that he will give us what we ask for.
- The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.
- John replied, “If you have two shirts, give one to the poor. If you have food, share it with those who are hungry.”
