| However, you, dear friends, must build yourselves up in your most holy faith and pray in the Holy Spirit. Keep yourselves in the love of God as you await our Lord Jesus Christ in his mercy, who will grant you eternal life. | But you, beloved, keep building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit. Keep yourselves in God’s love, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to eternal life. |
| Rejoice always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God for you in Christ Jesus. | Always rejoice. Pray without ceasing. In everything give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus toward you. |
