- Teach me to do Your will,
For You are my God;
Your Spirit is good.
Lead me in the land of uprightness. - Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show by good conduct that his works are done in the meekness of wisdom.
- Anxiety in the heart of man causes depression,
But a good word makes it glad. - Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one.
- And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.
- For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.
- Do not fear, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.
- Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.
- O my soul, you have said to the Lord,
“You are my Lord,
My goodness is nothing apart from You.” - Therefore, leaving the discussion of the elementary principles of Christ, let us go on to perfection, not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God, of the doctrine of baptisms, of laying on of hands, of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment.
- Learn to do good;
Seek justice,
Rebuke the oppressor;
Defend the fatherless,
Plead for the widow. - For He satisfies the longing soul,
And fills the hungry soul with goodness. - But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many people alive.
- See that no one renders evil for evil to anyone, but always pursue what is good both for yourselves and for all.
- Good and upright is the Lord;
Therefore He teaches sinners in the way.
The humble He guides in justice,
And the humble He teaches His way. - Who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works.
- He has shown you, O man, what is good;
And what does the Lord require of you
But to do justly,
To love mercy,
And to walk humbly with your God? - But I say to you who hear: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, and pray for those who spitefully use you.
- A good man deals graciously and lends;
He will guide his affairs with discretion. - And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.
- He who gets wisdom loves his own soul;
He who keeps understanding will find good. - Here is what I have seen: It is good and fitting for one to eat and drink, and to enjoy the good of all his labor in which he toils under the sun all the days of his life which God gives him; for it is his heritage.
- If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!
- I know that nothing is better for them than to rejoice, and to do good in their lives, and also that every man should eat and drink and enjoy the good of all his labor—it is the gift of God.
- But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy.
