- I say to the Lord, “You are my Lord;
I have no good apart from you.” - So then, faith comes from what is heard, and what is heard comes through the word of Christ.
- Then you will understand equity and justice
as well as righteousness—every good path. - He has satisfied the thirsty
and filled the hungry with good things. - Test everything, and hold fast to what is good. Avoid every form of evil.
- The powerful suffer want and go hungry,
but those who seek the Lord want for no good thing. - The Lord is good,
an unfailing refuge in a time of distress.
He takes care of those who place their trust in him. - For:
“If anyone wishes to love life
and to experience good days,
he must restrain his tongue from evil
and his lips from deceitful speech.
He must turn away from evil and do good,
seek peace and pursue it.” - Fight the good fight of faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your noble confession of faith in the presence of many witnesses.
- Now who is going to harm you if you are eager to do what is right?
- How much more valuable a man is than a sheep! Therefore, it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath.
- And the Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I wish to make another creature who will be like him.”
- Seek good and not evil,
so that you may live.
Then the Lord, the God of hosts, will be with you
as you claim he is. - Jesus answered, “Amen, I say to you, there is no one who has given up house or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or lands for my sake and for the sake of the gospel who will not receive in this age a hundred times more houses, brothers and sisters, mothers and children, and lands—as well as persecutions—and in the age to come, eternal life.”
- For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus for a life of good works that God had prepared for us to do.
- Who among you is wise and understanding? Prove by your good life that your works are done with the humility that comes from wisdom.
- A cheerful heart is excellent medicine,
but a crushed spirit dries up the bones. - We know that God makes all things work together for good for those who love him and who are called according to his purpose.
- How wonderful and delightful it is
for brothers to live together in unity. - I am confident of this: that the one who began a good work in you will bring it to completion on the day of Christ Jesus.
- Therefore, while we have the opportunity, let us labor for the good of all, but especially for those members of the household of the faith.
- No one should seek his own advantage in preference to that of his neighbor.
- One who finds a wife finds happiness
and receives favor from the Lord. - Two are better than one:
they earn a far greater reward for their toil. - You intended to do evil to me, but God decided to make it serve a good, to fulfill that which today has come true: to keep alive a numerous people.
