- I love the Lord because he has heard my voice
and listened to my cry for mercy,
because he has inclined his ear to me
on the day when I called out to him. - But without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever comes to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.
- The Lord is with you while you are with him. If you seek him, he will permit you to find him, but if you abandon him, he will abandon you.
- Even a fool who keeps silent is considered wise;
if he closes his lips, he is regarded as intelligent. - And yet he is aware of everywhere I go;
if he were to test me, I would emerge like pure gold.
My footsteps have not strayed from the path he established;
I have followed his way and never turned aside. - Who is this King of glory?
The Lord of hosts:
he is the King of glory. Selah - Hence, be subject to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
- Then he took bread, and after giving thanks he broke it and gave it to them, saying, “This is my body, which will be given for you. Do this in memory of me.”
- Then, after he had spoken to them, the Lord Jesus was taken up into heaven, and there he took his place at the right hand of God.
- He replied, “What is impossible for men is possible for God.”
- Take delight in the Lord,
and he will grant you what your heart desires. - Do not be afraid or dismayed, the Lord will go before you; he will not fail or forsake you.
- And I will ask the Father,
and he will give you another Advocate
to be with you forever. - Filled with the Holy Spirit, Jesus returned from the Jordan and was led by the Spirit into the desert for forty days, where he was tempted by the devil. During that time he ate nothing, and at the end of it he was famished.
- Commit your way to the Lord;
place your trust in him, and he will act.
He will make your righteousness shine like the dawn,
and the justice of your cause, like the noonday. - Then he sat down, summoned the Twelve, and said to them, “If anyone wishes to be first, he must become the last of all and the servant of all.”
- May he give you your heart’s desire
and grant you success in all your plans. - Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good;
his mercy endures forever. - The Lord watches over the stranger
and sustains the fatherless and the widow,
but he blocks the way of the wicked. - What then if you were to behold the Son of Man
ascend to where he was before? - Beloved,
we are God’s children now.
What we shall be
has not yet been revealed.
However, we do know that when he appears
we shall be like him,
for we shall see him as he really is.
Everyone who has this hope in him
keeps himself pure,
just as he is pure. - For the Lord takes delight in his people,
and he crowns the humble with salvation. - Jesus replied,
“This is the work of God:
to believe in the one whom he has sent.” - Therefore, we fasted and prayed to God to grant us a safe journey, and he answered our prayer.
- But I know that my Redeemer lives,
and that at the end he will stand upon the dust.
