- God is not a human being, that he should lie,
or a mortal, that he should change his mind.
Has he promised, and will he not do it?
Has he spoken, and will he not fulfill it? - Our God is in the heavens;
he does whatever he pleases. - Seek the Lord while he may be found;
call upon him while he is near. - The Lord makes poor and makes rich;
he brings low; he also exalts. - He will not let your foot be moved;
he who keeps you will not slumber. - Then he led them out as far as Bethany, and, lifting up his hands, he blessed them. While he was blessing them, he withdrew from them and was carried up into heaven.

and he will sustain you;
he will never permit
the righteous to be moved. - But he said to them, “Do not be alarmed; you are looking for Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He has been raised; he is not here. Look, there is the place they laid him.”
- He reveals deep and hidden things;
he knows what is in the darkness,
and light dwells with him. - When Jesus had received the wine, he said, “It is finished.” Then he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.
- So God created humans in his image,
in the image of God he created them;
male and female he created them. - The Lord our God be with us, as he was with our ancestors; may he not leave us or abandon us.
- He gives power to the faint
and strengthens the powerless. - He is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, so that he might come to have first place in everything.
- When he had said this, as they were watching, he was lifted up, and a cloud took him out of their sight.
- When God saw what they did, how they turned from their evil ways, God changed his mind about the calamity that he had said he would bring upon them, and he did not do it.

he is great in power and justice,

therefore he instructs sinners in the way.
He leads the humble in what is right
and teaches the humble his way. - He heals the brokenhearted
and binds up their wounds. - He alone is my rock and my salvation,
my fortress; I shall not be shaken. - He who did not withhold his own Son but gave him up for all of us, how will he not with him also give us everything else?
- You are from your father the devil, and you choose to do your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning and does not stand in the truth because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks according to his own nature, for he is a liar and the father of lies.
- Train children in the right way,
and when old, they will not stray. - Cast all your anxiety on him, because he cares for you.
- Remember how he told you, while he was still in Galilee, that the Son of Man must be handed over to the hands of sinners and be crucified and on the third day rise again.
- He alone is my rock and my salvation,
my fortress; I shall never be shaken. - The Lord watches over the strangers;
he upholds the orphan and the widow,
but the way of the wicked he brings to ruin. - Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will exalt you.
- It is the Lord who goes before you. He will be with you; he will not fail you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.
- Consequently, he is able for all time to save those who approach God through him, since he always lives to make intercession for them.
- As they came from their mother’s womb, so they shall go again, naked as they came; they shall take nothing for their toil that they may carry away with their hands.
- He was there with the Lord forty days and forty nights; he neither ate bread nor drank water. And he wrote on the tablets the words of the covenant, the ten commandments.
- Those who say, “I love God,” and hate a brother or sister are liars, for those who do not love a brother or sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen.
- Then he took a loaf of bread, and when he had given thanks he broke it and gave it to them, saying, “This is my body, which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me.”
- And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would approach God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.
- And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate, to be with you forever.
