- God is not a human being, that he should lie,
or a mortal, that he should change his mind.
Has he promised, and will he not do it?
Has he spoken, and will he not fulfill it? - Our God is in the heavens;
he does whatever he pleases. - Seek the Lord while he may be found,
call upon him while he is near. - The Lord makes poor and makes rich;
he brings low, he also exalts. - He will not let your foot be moved;
he who keeps you will not slumber. - Then he led them out as far as Bethany, and, lifting up his hands, he blessed them. While he was blessing them, he withdrew from them and was carried up into heaven.
- We love because he first loved us.
- He must increase, but I must decrease.
- All who obey his commandments abide in him, and he abides in them. And by this we know that he abides in us, by the Spirit that he has given us.
- And when he comes, he will prove the world wrong about sin and righteousness and judgment.
- He declared to you his covenant, which he charged you to observe, that is, the ten commandments; and he wrote them on two stone tablets.
- For he satisfies the thirsty,
and the hungry he fills with good things. - By this we know that we abide in him and he in us, because he has given us of his Spirit.
- He stores up sound wisdom for the upright;
he is a shield to those who walk blamelessly. - But the angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid; I know that you are looking for Jesus who was crucified. He is not here; for he has been raised, as he said. Come, see the place where he lay.”
- Cast your burden on the Lord,
and he will sustain you;
he will never permit
the righteous to be moved. - He reveals deep and hidden things;
he knows what is in the darkness,
and light dwells with him. - The Lord our God be with us, as he was with our ancestors; may he not leave us or abandon us.
- But he said to them, “Do not be alarmed; you are looking for Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He has been raised; he is not here. Look, there is the place they laid him.”
- When Jesus had received the wine, he said, “It is finished.” Then he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.
- When he had said this, as they were watching, he was lifted up, and a cloud took him out of their sight.
- He is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, so that he might come to have first place in everything.
- So God created humankind in his image,
in the image of God he created them;
male and female he created them. - When God saw what they did, how they turned from their evil ways, God changed his mind about the calamity that he had said he would bring upon them; and he did not do it.
- He gives power to the faint,
and strengthens the powerless.
The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want.
He makes me lie down in green pastures;
he leads me beside still waters.But he was wounded for our transgressions,
crushed for our iniquities;
upon him was the punishment that made us whole,
and by his bruises we are healed. For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all, training us to renounce impiety and worldly passions, and in the present age to live lives that are self-controlled, upright, and godly.Next verse!With image
