- For the Lord takes pleasure in His people;
He will beautify the humble with salvation. - Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is. And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure.
- Every word of God is pure;
He is a shield to those who put their trust in Him. - Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good!
For His mercy endures forever. - For by one offering He has perfected forever those who are being sanctified.
- Let the wicked forsake his way,
And the unrighteous man his thoughts;
Let him return to the Lord,
And He will have mercy on him;
And to our God,
For He will abundantly pardon. - Then God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because in it He rested from all His work which God had created and made.
- But He said, “The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.”
- He is despised and rejected by men,
A Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief.
And we hid, as it were, our faces from Him;
He was despised, and we did not esteem Him. - And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.”
- He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also He has put eternity in their hearts, except that no one can find out the work that God does from beginning to end.
- As far as the east is from the west,
So far has He removed our transgressions from us. - Jesus answered and said to them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He sent.”
- I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser. Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit.
- And having been perfected, He became the author of eternal salvation to all who obey Him.
- The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord,
And He delights in his way. - And being in torments in Hades, he lifted up his eyes and saw Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.
“Then he cried and said, ‘Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus that he may dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.’ ” - He who is slow to anger is better than the mighty,
And he who rules his spirit than he who takes a city. - Then Jesus, being filled with the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness, being tempted for forty days by the devil. And in those days He ate nothing, and afterward, when they had ended, He was hungry.
- The Lord is good,
A stronghold in the day of trouble;
And He knows those who trust in Him. - So then, after the Lord had spoken to them, He was received up into heaven, and sat down at the right hand of God.
- Then He said to them, “Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.”
- For the Lord is our Judge,
The Lord is our Lawgiver,
The Lord is our King;
He will save us. - Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord,
The people He has chosen as His own inheritance. - And He said to them, “Take heed and beware of covetousness, for one’s life does not consist in the abundance of the things he possesses.”
