- Blessed be the Lord,
who daily bears us up;
God is our salvation. Selah - Adulterers! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Therefore whoever wishes to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God.
- But he said, “Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it!”
- Those who say, “I love God,” and hate their brothers or sisters, are liars; for those who do not love a brother or sister whom they have seen, cannot love God whom they have not seen.
- Do not be deceived; God is not mocked, for you reap whatever you sow.
- The grass withers, the flower fades;
but the word of our God will stand forever. - Likewise all to whom God gives wealth and possessions and whom he enables to enjoy them, and to accept their lot and find enjoyment in their toil—this is the gift of God.
- Every word of God proves true;
he is a shield to those who take refuge in him. - What then are we to say about these things? If God is for us, who is against us?
- You believe that God is one; you do well. Even the demons believe—and shudder.
- Welcome one another, therefore, just as Christ has welcomed you, for the glory of God.
- And the Lord God made garments of skins for the man and for his wife, and clothed them.
- Jesus answered them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in him whom he has sent.”
- And this is the testimony: God gave us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.
- Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and the God of all consolation, who consoles us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to console those who are in any affliction with the consolation with which we ourselves are consoled by God.
- But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
- For the creation waits with eager longing for the revealing of the children of God.
- How much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without blemish to God, purify our conscience from dead works to worship the living God!
- When God saw what they did, how they turned from their evil ways, God changed his mind about the calamity that he had said he would bring upon them; and he did not do it.
- Jesus said to her, “Do not hold on to me, because I have not yet ascended to the Father. But go to my brothers and say to them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’ ”
- Cure the sick who are there, and say to them, ‘The kingdom of God has come near to you.’
- I appeal to you therefore, brothers and sisters, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.
- Who is it that conquers the world but the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?
- Restore us, O Lord God of hosts;
let your face shine, that we may be saved. - So now, O Israel, what does the Lord your God require of you? Only to fear the Lord your God, to walk in all his ways, to love him, to serve the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, and to keep the commandments of the Lord your God and his decrees that I am commanding you today, for your own well-being.
We know love by this, that he laid down his life for us—and we ought to lay down our lives for one another.
