- The Lord will rescue his servants;
no one who takes refuge in him will be condemned. - Blessed are those who keep his statutes
and seek him with all their heart. - Taste and see that the Lord is good;
blessed is the one who takes refuge in him. - A gift opens the way
and ushers the giver into the presence of the great. - Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when Christ appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is. All who have this hope in him purify themselves, just as he is pure.
- Every word of God is flawless;
he is a shield to those who take refuge in him. - What is mankind that you are mindful of them,
human beings that you care for them? - So Peter was kept in prison, but the church was earnestly praying to God for him.
- And, once made perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation for all who obey him.
- Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.
- This is how we know that we live in him and he in us: He has given us of his Spirit.
- For it has been granted to you on behalf of Christ not only to believe in him, but also to suffer for him.
- The Lord is good,
a refuge in times of trouble.
He cares for those who trust in him. - But the eyes of the Lord are on those who fear him,
on those whose hope is in his unfailing love. - As a father has compassion on his children,
so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him. - Dear friends, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence before God and receive from him anything we ask, because we keep his commands and do what pleases him.
- The one who eats everything must not treat with contempt the one who does not, and the one who does not eat everything must not judge the one who does, for God has accepted them.
- God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.
- Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth.
- While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no guest room available for them.
- But when they saw him walking on the lake, they thought he was a ghost. They cried out, because they all saw him and were terrified. Immediately he spoke to them and said, “Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.”
- I can do all this through him who gives me strength.
- After he said this, he was taken up before their very eyes, and a cloud hid him from their sight.
- We are witnesses of these things, and so is the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to those who obey him.
- Surely he took up our pain
and bore our suffering,
yet we considered him punished by God,
stricken by him, and afflicted.
The one who keeps God’s commands lives in him, and he in them. And this is how we know that he lives in us: We know it by the Spirit he gave us.But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.
