- He who walks blamelessly and does what is right
and speaks truth in his heart;
who does not slander with his tongue
and does no evil to his neighbor,
nor takes up a reproach against his friend. - I will bless the Lord at all times;
his praise shall continually be in my mouth. - But the tax collector, standing far off, would not even lift up his eyes to heaven, but beat his breast, saying, ‘God, be merciful to me, a sinner!’
- The Lord bless you and keep you;
the Lord make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you;
the Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace. - The Lord is slow to anger and great in power,
and the Lord will by no means clear the guilty.
His way is in whirlwind and storm,
and the clouds are the dust of his feet. - Blessed are those who keep his testimonies,
who seek him with their whole heart. - For the Lord takes pleasure in his people;
he adorns the humble with salvation. - The eyes of the Lord are toward the righteous
and his ears toward their cry. - For the Lord gives wisdom;
from his mouth come knowledge and understanding. - Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised,
and his greatness is unsearchable. - If you will diligently listen to the voice of the Lord your God, and do that which is right in his eyes, and give ear to his commandments and keep all his statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you that I put on the Egyptians, for I am the Lord, your healer.
- A wise son makes a glad father,
but a foolish son is a sorrow to his mother. - His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us to his own glory and excellence.
- So then, there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God, for whoever has entered God's rest has also rested from his works as God did from his.
- Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good;
for his steadfast love endures forever! - For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake and the gospel's will save it.
- Guarding the paths of justice
and watching over the way of his saints. - And this is the testimony, that God gave us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.
- If you obey the commandments of the Lord your God that I command you today, by loving the Lord your God, by walking in his ways, and by keeping his commandments and his statutes and his rules, then you shall live and multiply, and the Lord your God will bless you in the land that you are entering to take possession of it.
- But he knows the way that I take;
when he has tried me, I shall come out as gold.
My foot has held fast to his steps;
I have kept his way and have not turned aside. - The good person out of the good treasure of his heart produces good, and the evil person out of his evil treasure produces evil, for out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.
- And calling the crowd to him with his disciples, he said to them, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.”
- If anyone thinks he is religious and does not bridle his tongue but deceives his heart, this person's religion is worthless.
- By this we know that we abide in him and he in us, because he has given us of his Spirit.
- Behold, the eye of the Lord is on those who fear him,
on those who hope in his steadfast love.
