- By the word of the Lord the heavens were made,

- Those who find their life will lose it, and those who lose their life for my sake will find it.
- He is the reflection of God's glory and the exact imprint of God's very being, and he sustains all things by his powerful word. When he had made purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high.
- Therefore keep the commandments of the Lord your God, by walking in his ways and by fearing him.
- For ‘In him we live and move and have our being’; as even some of your own poets have said,
‘For we too are his offspring.’ - A wise child makes a glad father,
but a foolish child is a mother's grief. - When God raised up his servant, he sent him first to you, to bless you by turning each of you from your wicked ways.
- For the word of the Lord is upright,
and all his work is done in faithfulness. - But to all who received him, who believed in his name, he gave power to become children of God.
