| And I myself did not know him, but the one who sent me to baptize with water told me, ‘The man on whom you see the Spirit come down and remain is the one who will baptize with the Holy Spirit.’ | And I did not recognize Him, but He who sent me to baptize in water said to me, ‘He upon whom you see the Spirit descending and remaining upon Him, this is the One who baptizes in the Holy Spirit.’ |
| Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit. | That which has been born of the flesh is flesh, and that which has been born of the Spirit is spirit. |
