How (3/4)

Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom. So teach us to count our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.
Praise the Lord. Blessed are those who fear the Lord, who find great delight in his commands.Praise Yah! Blessed is the man who fears Yahweh, who delights greatly in his commandments.
I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. Not that I speak because of lack, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content in it.
Blessed is the one whom God corrects; so do not despise the discipline of the Almighty.Behold, happy is the man whom God corrects. Therefore do not despise the chastening of the Almighty.
Then he said to them, “Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; life does not consist in an abundance of possessions.”He said to them, “Beware! Keep yourselves from covetousness, for a man’s life doesn’t consist of the abundance of the things which he possesses.”
The lips of the righteous know what finds favor, but the mouth of the wicked only what is perverse. The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable, but the mouth of the wicked is perverse.
Whoever loves money never has enough; whoever loves wealth is never satisfied with their income. This too is meaningless. He who loves silver shall not be satisfied with silver, nor he who loves abundance, with increase. This also is vanity.
But be sure to fear the Lord and serve him faithfully with all your heart; consider what great things he has done for you.Only fear Yahweh, and serve him in truth with all your heart; for consider what great things he has done for you.
Therefore no one will be declared righteous in God’s sight by the works of the law; rather, through the law we become conscious of our sin.Because by the works of the law, no flesh will be justified in his sight; for through the law comes the knowledge of sin.
In that day you will say: “Give praise to the Lord, proclaim his name; make known among the nations what he has done, and proclaim that his name is exalted.”In that day you will say, “Give thanks to Yahweh! Call on his name! Declare his doings among the peoples! Proclaim that his name is exalted!”
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only born Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
Because your love is better than life, my lips will glorify you. I will praise you as long as I live, and in your name I will lift up my hands.Because your loving kindness is better than life, my lips shall praise you. So I will bless you while I live. I will lift up my hands in your name.
And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them.We know and have believed the love which God has for us. God is love, and he who remains in love remains in God, and God remains in him.
He is the Rock, his works are perfect, and all his ways are just. A faithful God who does no wrong, upright and just is he.The Rock: his work is perfect, for all his ways are just. A God of faithfulness who does no wrong, just and right is he.
If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up.For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow; but woe to him who is alone when he falls, and doesn’t have another to lift him up.
But in fact the ministry Jesus has received is as superior to theirs as the covenant of which he is mediator is superior to the old one, since the new covenant is established on better promises. But now he has obtained a more excellent ministry, by as much as he is also the mediator of a better covenant, which on better promises has been given as law.
But God has helped me to this very day; so I stand here and testify to small and great alike. I am saying nothing beyond what the prophets and Moses said would happen— that the Messiah would suffer and, as the first to rise from the dead, would bring the message of light to his own people and to the Gentiles.Having therefore obtained the help that is from God, I stand to this day testifying both to small and great, saying nothing but what the prophets and Moses said would happen, how the Christ must suffer, and how, by the resurrection of the dead, he would be first to proclaim light both to these people and to the Gentiles.
And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.And hope doesn’t disappoint us, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.
One Sabbath Jesus was going through the grainfields, and as his disciples walked along, they began to pick some heads of grain. The Pharisees said to him, “Look, why are they doing what is unlawful on the Sabbath?” He answered, “Have you never read what David did when he and his companions were hungry and in need? In the days of Abiathar the high priest, he entered the house of God and ate the consecrated bread, which is lawful only for priests to eat. And he also gave some to his companions.” Then he said to them, “The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath. So the Son of Man is Lord even of the Sabbath.”He was going on the Sabbath day through the grain fields; and his disciples began, as they went, to pluck the ears of grain. The Pharisees said to him, “Behold, why do they do that which is not lawful on the Sabbath day?” He said to them, “Did you never read what David did when he had need and was hungry—he, and those who were with him? How he entered into God’s house at the time of Abiathar the high priest, and ate the show bread, which is not lawful to eat except for the priests, and gave also to those who were with him?” He said to them, “The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath. Therefore the Son of Man is lord even of the Sabbath.”
Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.Let each man give according as he has determined in his heart, not grudgingly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.
I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people.Having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope of his calling, and what are the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints.
For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed—a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: “The righteous will live by faith.”For in it is revealed God’s righteousness from faith to faith. As it is written, “But the righteous shall live by faith.”
For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. For you formed my inmost being. You knit me together in my mother’s womb. I will give thanks to you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Your works are wonderful. My soul knows that very well.
Woe to those who quarrel with their Maker, those who are nothing but potsherds among the potsherds on the ground. Does the clay say to the potter, ‘What are you making?’ Does your work say, ‘The potter has no hands’?Woe to him who strives with his Maker— a clay pot among the clay pots of the earth! Shall the clay ask him who fashions it, ‘What are you making?’ or your work, ‘He has no hands’?
But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”But Yahweh said to Samuel, “Don’t look on his face, or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him; for I don’t see as man sees. For man looks at the outward appearance, but Yahweh looks at the heart.”

For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures. For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures.
