- If you love me,
you will keep my commandments. - This is how everyone will know
that you are my disciples:
if you love one another. - But I say to you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.
- If you keep my commandments,
you will remain in my love,
just as I have kept my Father’s commandments
and remain in his love. - If you abide in me
and my words abide in you,
you may ask for whatever you wish,
and it will be done for you. - If you know me,
then you will know my Father also.
From now on you do know him.
You have seen him. - For thus says the Lord to the house of Israel:
If you seek me, you will survive. - Now who is going to harm you if you are eager to do what is right?
- I have made your name known to them,
and I will make it known,
so that the love with which you loved me
may be in them, and I in them. - Do not love the world
or what is in the world.
If anyone does love the world,
the love of the Father is not in him. - Jesus replied, “Did I not tell you that if you have faith you will see the glory of God?”
- What then if you were to behold the Son of Man
ascend to where he was before? - I give you a new commandment:
love one another.
Just as I have loved you,
so you should also love one another. - The Lord is with you while you are with him. If you seek him, he will permit you to find him, but if you abandon him, he will abandon you.

to be with me where I am,
so that they may behold my glory,
which you have bestowed on me
because you loved me
before the foundation of the world. - When you search for me, you will find me. When you seek me with all your heart.

but if we love one another,
God abides in us,

does not know God,
because God is love. - And if you do good to those who do good to you, what credit is that to you? Even sinners do as much.

be aware that it hated me

- If you forgive others for the wrongs they have done, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.
- But if you do not forgive others, then your Father will not forgive your transgressions.
- If someone says, “I love God,”
but at the same time hates his brother,
he is a liar.
For whoever does not love the brother
whom he has seen
cannot love God whom he has not seen. - If your brother wrongs you, go and take up the matter with him when the two of you are alone. If he listens to you, you have won your brother over.
- But if you seek the Lord, your God, and you strive with all your heart and your soul, you will find him there.
- You need to be steadfast if you want to do the will of God and receive what he has promised.
- Everything that you do should be done in love.
- Jesus replied, “If you wish to be perfect, go, sell your possessions, and give the money to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.”
- Love cannot result in any harm to the neighbor; therefore, love is the fulfillment of the Law.
- This is my commandment:
love one another
as I have loved you. - If you would seriously consider my reproof,
I would pour out my thoughts to you
and make my precepts known to you. - We have come to know
and to believe in
the love that God has for us.
God is love,
and whoever abides in love
abides in God,
and God in him. - If your brother should sin, rebuke him, and if he repents, forgive him. Even if he wrongs you seven times a day, and comes back to you seven times to say, ‘I am sorry,’ you must forgive him.
- Therefore, we love because he first loved us.
- For the Lord, your God, is gracious and compassionate, and he will not turn his face away from you if you return to him.
- In love there is no fear;
indeed, perfect love casts out fear,
because fear has to do with punishment,
and whoever fears
has not yet achieved perfection in love. - All you need to do is to say ‘Yes’ if you mean ‘Yes’ and ‘No’ if you mean ‘No.’ Anything beyond this comes from the evil one.
- If you confess with your lips, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
- But to those of you who are listening to me, I say: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you.
- If anyone wishes to serve me,
he must follow me.
Where I am,
there also will my servant be.
If anyone serves me,
my Father will honor that person. - Remember this: if you sow sparingly, you will reap sparingly, and if you sow generously, you will reap generously as well.
- Now, if you will obey my voice and keep my covenant, you will be my own possession from among all the peoples, for the entire earth is mine.
- The second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’
- Yet even if you should suffer for doing what is right, you are thereby blessed. Have no fear of others, and refuse to be intimidated by them.
- In much the same manner
will wisdom be sweet to your soul.
If you find it, you will have a future,
and your hope will not be cut off. - Although you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with a joy that is indescribable and glorious. For you are achieving the goal of your faith, that is, the salvation of your souls.
- You are all-beautiful, my love,
without the slightest blemish. - When you call out to me and come forth and pray to me, I will listen to you.
- Examine me, O God, and know my heart;
test me and understand my thoughts.
See if I follow an evil way,
and guide me on the way to eternity.
