- And the Lord turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends: also the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before.
- I made a covenant with mine eyes;
why then should I think upon a maid? - For I know that my redeemer liveth,
and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth. - To him that is afflicted pity should be shewed from his friend;
but he forsaketh the fear of the Almighty. - Behold, happy is the man whom God correcteth:
therefore despise not thou the chastening of the Almighty. - Neither have I gone back from the commandment of his lips;
I have esteemed the words of his mouth more than my necessary food. - Touching the Almighty, we cannot find him out:
he is excellent in power, and in judgment,
and in plenty of justice: he will not afflict. - Then Job arose, and rent his mantle, and shaved his head, and fell down upon the ground, and worshipped, And said, Naked came I out of my mother's womb, and naked shall I return thither: the Lord gave, and the Lord hath taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord.
- And the Lord said unto Satan, Behold, all that he hath is in thy power; only upon himself put not forth thine hand. So Satan went forth from the presence of the Lord.
- But he knoweth the way that I take:
when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold.
My foot hath held his steps,
his way have I kept, and not declined. - Because I delivered the poor that cried,
and the fatherless, and him that had none to help him.
The blessing of him that was ready to perish came upon me:
and I caused the widow's heart to sing for joy.
Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost. Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.Next verse!With image
