- Who, though he was in the form of God,
did not regard equality with God
as something to be exploited,
but emptied himself,
taking the form of a slave,
being born in human likeness.
And being found in human form,
he humbled himself
and became obedient to the point of death—
even death on a cross. - Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! By his great mercy he has given us a new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.
- No one has ever seen God. It is God the only Son, who is close to the Father's heart, who has made him known.

- For who is God except the Lord?
And who is a rock besides our God? - But surely, God is my helper;
the Lord is the upholder of my life. - Joseph also went from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to the city of David called Bethlehem, because he was descended from the house and family of David. He went to be registered with Mary, to whom he was engaged and who was expecting a child.
- For who is God, but the Lord?
And who is a rock, except our God? - There is no Holy One like the Lord,
no one besides you;
there is no Rock like our God. - What is desirable in a person is loyalty,
and it is better to be poor than a liar. - Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain,
but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised. - The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law.
- Let love be genuine; hate what is evil, hold fast to what is good.
- This is the message we have heard from him and proclaim to you, that God is light and in him there is no darkness at all.
