Chinese (traditional)- Who is wise and understanding among you? By his good conduct let him show his works in the meekness of wisdom.
- My son, be attentive to my words;
incline your ear to my sayings.
Let them not escape from your sight;
keep them within your heart. - And a highway shall be there,
and it shall be called the Way of Holiness;
the unclean shall not pass over it.
It shall belong to those who walk on the way;
even if they are fools, they shall not go astray. - Let brotherly love continue. Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.
- Make your face shine on your servant;
save me in your steadfast love! - And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.
- Now then, let the fear of the Lord be upon you. Be careful what you do, for there is no injustice with the Lord our God, or partiality or taking bribes.
- Let not the one who eats despise the one who abstains, and let not the one who abstains pass judgment on the one who eats, for God has welcomed him.
- Therefore you shall keep his statutes and his commandments, which I command you today, that it may go well with you and with your children after you, and that you may prolong your days in the land that the Lord your God is giving you for all time.
- Let not steadfast love and faithfulness forsake you;
bind them around your neck;
write them on the tablet of your heart.
So you will find favor and good success
in the sight of God and man. - Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.
- For if you truly amend your ways and your deeds, if you truly execute justice one with another, if you do not oppress the sojourner, the fatherless, or the widow, or shed innocent blood in this place, and if you do not go after other gods to your own harm, then I will let you dwell in this place, in the land that I gave of old to your fathers forever.
- Let what you say be simply ‘Yes’ or ‘No’; anything more than this comes from evil.
- Let no one seek his own good, but the good of his neighbor.
- But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving may be in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.
- Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
- However, let each one of you love his wife as himself, and let the wife see that she respects her husband.
- Know this, my beloved brothers: let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger.
- But Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven.”
- Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart
be acceptable in your sight,
O Lord, my rock and my redeemer. - Let each of us please his neighbor for his good, to build him up.
- Restore us, O Lord God of hosts!
Let your face shine, that we may be saved! - If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.
- Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus.
- “Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord.” For it is not the one who commends himself who is approved, but the one whom the Lord commends.
In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. So we can confidently say,
“The Lord is my helper;
I will not fear;
what can man do to me?”Next verse!With image
