- For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
- It is better to trust in the Lord
than to put confidence in man. - The Lord maketh poor, and maketh rich:
he bringeth low, and lifteth up. - The Lord is righteous in all his ways,
and holy in all his works. - But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.
- But the Lord said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the Lord seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the Lord looketh on the heart.
- For thus saith the Lord unto the house of Israel, Seek ye me, and ye shall live.
- Salvation belongeth unto the Lord:
thy blessing is upon thy people. Selah. - For whoso findeth me findeth life,
and shall obtain favour of the Lord. - And the Lord turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends: also the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before.
- Therefore shall ye keep my commandments, and do them: I am the Lord.
- I sought the Lord, and he heard me,
and delivered me from all my fears. - Bless the Lord, O my soul:
and all that is within me, bless his holy name. - For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ.
- Seek ye the Lord while he may be found,
call ye upon him while he is near. - For the word of the Lord is right;
and all his works are done in truth. - God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.
- For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
- By humility and the fear of the Lord
are riches, and honour, and life. - Commit thy works unto the Lord,
and thy thoughts shall be established. - The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord:
and he delighteth in his way. - The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil:
he shall preserve thy soul.
The Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in
from this time forth, and even for evermore. - This is the day which the Lord hath made;
we will rejoice and be glad in it. - The Lord also will be a refuge for the oppressed,
a refuge in times of trouble. - Ye shall keep my sabbaths, and reverence my sanctuary: I am the Lord.
Likewise also the cup after supper, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood, which is shed for you.
