- Instead, put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to gratify its desires.
- Rise up, O Lord; O God, lift up your hand;
do not forget the oppressed. - The human mind plans the way,
but the Lord directs the steps. - And the Lord restored the fortunes of Job when he had prayed for his friends; and the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before.
- The Lord is just in all his ways,
and kind in all his doings. - Let your steadfast love, O Lord, be upon us,
even as we hope in you. - For who is God, but the Lord?
And who is a rock, except our God? - Let us test and examine our ways,
and return to the Lord. - Seek the Lord and his strength,
seek his presence continually. - With the Lord on my side I do not fear.
What can mortals do to me? - The Lord makes poor and makes rich;
he brings low, he also exalts. - For whoever finds me finds life
and obtains favor from the Lord. - But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look on his appearance or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him; for the Lord does not see as mortals see; they look on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.”
- Even before a word is on my tongue,
O Lord, you know it completely. - Deliverance belongs to the Lord;
may your blessing be on your people! Selah - When I thought, “My foot is slipping,”
your steadfast love, O Lord, held me up. - It is you who light my lamp;
the Lord, my God, lights up my darkness. - It is better to take refuge in the Lord
than to put confidence in mortals. - Who can hide in secret places so that I cannot see them? says the Lord. Do I not fill heaven and earth? says the Lord.
- God is faithful; by him you were called into the fellowship of his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.
- But our citizenship is in heaven, and it is from there that we are expecting a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ.
- Seek the Lord while he may be found,
call upon him while he is near. - Commit your work to the Lord,
and your plans will be established. - Thus you shall keep my commandments and observe them: I am the Lord.
- For the Lord himself, with a cry of command, with the archangel's call and with the sound of God's trumpet, will descend from heaven, and the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up in the clouds together with them to meet the Lord in the air; and so we will be with the Lord forever.
With all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love.
