Man (2/4)

  • Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed.
  • And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come.
  • The Lord is on my side; I will not fear:
what can man do unto me?
  • O taste and see that the Lord is good:
blessed is the man that trusteth in him.
  • Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way?
by taking heed thereto according to thy word.
  • For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.
  • I, even I, am he that comforteth you:
who art thou, that thou shouldest be afraid of a man that shall die,
and of the son of man which shall be made as grass.
  • When a man hath taken a new wife, he shall not go out to war, neither shall he be charged with any business: but he shall be free at home one year, and shall cheer up his wife which he hath taken.
  • He is not here, but is risen: remember how he spake unto you when he was yet in Galilee, Saying, The Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.
  • But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
  • A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.
  • Thou shalt also consider in thine heart, that, as a man chasteneth his son, so the Lord thy God chasteneth thee.
  • Iron sharpeneth iron;
so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.
  • Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
  • For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?
  • The ransom of a man's life are his riches:
but the poor heareth not rebuke.
  • A froward man soweth strife:
and a whisperer separateth chief friends.
  • But from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female. For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and cleave to his wife; And they twain shall be one flesh: so then they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.
  • A fool uttereth all his mind:
but a wise man keepeth it in till afterwards.
  • For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?
  • And he humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with manna, which thou knewest not, neither did thy fathers know; that he might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the Lord doth man live.
  • Before destruction the heart of man is haughty,
    and before honour is humility.
  • Let no man seek his own, but every man another's wealth.
  • There is a way which seemeth right unto a man,
but the end thereof are the ways of death.
  • Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not. For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord:
and he delighteth in his way.
