- There is a way which seemeth right unto a man,
but the end thereof are the ways of death. - The ransom of a man's life are his riches:

And he said unto them, Have ye never read what David did, when he had need, and was an hungred, he, and they that were with him? How he went into the house of God in the days of Abiathar the high priest, and did eat the shewbread, which is not lawful to eat but for the priests, and gave also to them which were with him? And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath: Therefore the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath.
- Be it known unto you therefore, men and brethren, that through this man is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins: And by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses.
- Praise ye the Lord. Blessed is the man that feareth the Lord,
that delighteth greatly in his commandments. - For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body.
- Every way of a man is right in his own eyes:
but the Lord pondereth the hearts. - How much then is a man better than a sheep? Wherefore it is lawful to do well on the sabbath days.
- Unto Adam also and to his wife did the Lord God make coats of skins, and clothed them.
- Let not mercy and truth forsake thee:
bind them about thy neck;
write them upon the table of thine heart:
So shalt thou find favour and good understanding
in the sight of God and man. - It is an honour for a man to cease from strife:
but every fool will be meddling. - A good man sheweth favour, and lendeth:
he will guide his affairs with discretion. - Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.
- A man's heart deviseth his way:
but the Lord directeth his steps. - A fool's wrath is presently known:
but a prudent man covereth shame. - Let no man seek his own, but every man another's wealth.
- And the Lord God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever: Therefore the Lord God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from whence he was taken.
- A prudent man foreseeth the evil, and hideth himself;
but the simple pass on, and are punished. - Behold, happy is the man whom God correcteth:
therefore despise not thou the chastening of the Almighty. - Whoso findeth a wife findeth a good thing,
and obtaineth favour of the Lord. - For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.
