Chinese (traditional)- The Lord is my light and my salvation—
whom shall I fear?
The Lord is the stronghold of my life—
of whom shall I be afraid? - But you, Lord, are a shield around me,
my glory, the One who lifts my head high. - Why, my soul, are you downcast?
Why so disturbed within me?
Put your hope in God,
for I will yet praise him,
my Savior and my God. - If you love me, keep my commands.
- Since you are my rock and my fortress,
for the sake of your name lead and guide me. - “For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways my ways,”
declares the Lord. - This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.
- Your statutes are my heritage forever;
they are the joy of my heart. - I lift up my eyes to the mountains—
where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord,
the Maker of heaven and earth. - Lord, hear my prayer,
listen to my cry for mercy;
in your faithfulness and righteousness
come to my relief. - Surely God is my help;
the Lord is the one who sustains me. - But as for me, I watch in hope for the Lord,
I wait for God my Savior;
my God will hear me. - I say to myself, “The Lord is my portion;
therefore I will wait for him.” - My times are in your hands;
deliver me from the hands of my enemies,
from those who pursue me. - My son, do not forget my teaching,
but keep my commands in your heart,
for they will prolong your life many years
and bring you peace and prosperity. - Praise the Lord, my soul;
all my inmost being, praise his holy name. - Jesus answered, “My teaching is not my own. It comes from the one who sent me.”
- Listen, my son, accept what I say,
and the years of your life will be many. - I spread out my hands to you;
I thirst for you like a parched land. - Jesus said, “Do not hold on to me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father. Go instead to my brothers and tell them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’”
- You, God, are my God,
earnestly I seek you;
I thirst for you,
my whole being longs for you,
in a dry and parched land
where there is no water. - The Sovereign Lord is my strength;
he makes my feet like the feet of a deer,
he enables me to tread on the heights. - I wait for the Lord, my whole being waits,
and in his word I put my hope. - Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High
will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress,
my God, in whom I trust.” - I say to the Lord, “You are my Lord;
apart from you I have no good thing.”
My son, pay attention to what I say;
turn your ear to my words.
Do not let them out of your sight,
keep them within your heart.Who is he, this King of glory?
The Lord Almighty—
he is the King of glory. Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, for you are receiving the end result of your faith, the salvation of your souls.Next verse!With image
