- I will, thereby, display my greatness and my holiness and make myself known to many nations. Then they will know that I am the Lord.
- Rather, I discipline my body and bring it under control, for fear that after preaching to others I myself may be disqualified.
- Anyone who has received my commandments
and observes them
is the one who loves me.
And whoever loves me
will be loved by my Father,
and I will love him
and reveal myself to him. - I refrained from eating any choice food, abstaining from consuming meat or wine, and I did not anoint myself until those three weeks had passed.
- The Lord is my portion, I say to myself;
therefore, I will place my hope in him. - I myself did not know him,
but the one who sent me to baptize with water told me,
‘The one on whom you see the Spirit descend and rest
is the one who is to baptize with the Holy Spirit.’ - As for me, I do not regard my life as of any value, only that I finish the race and complete the mission that I received from the Lord Jesus—to bear witness to the gospel of God’s grace.
- To anyone who is victorious, I will give the right to sit with me on my throne, as I myself overcame and sat with my Father on his throne.
- “All things are lawful for me,” but not all things are beneficial. “All things are lawful for me,” but I will not allow myself to be dominated by anything.
- I was eager to respond
to those who did not consult me.
I was anxious to be approached
by those who did not seek me.
I said, “Here I am! Here I am!”
to a nation that did not summon me. - My son, if your heart is wise,
then my heart will be glad. - I will walk in complete freedom
because I have sought your commands. - In peace I lie down and sleep,
for only with your help, O Lord,
can I rest secure. - At dawn let me experience your kindness,
for in you I place my trust.
Show me the path I must walk,
for to you I lift up my soul. - I, I alone, am the one who comforts you.
Why then do you fear mortal men who must die,
human beings who must perish like grass? - I have made your name known to them,
and I will make it known,
so that the love with which you loved me
may be in them, and I in them. - Then I acknowledged my sin to you,
and I made no attempt to conceal my guilt.
I said, “I will confess my offenses to the Lord,”
and you removed the guilt of my sin. Selah - And ‘to love him with all your heart, and with all your understanding, and with all your strength, and to love your neighbor as yourself,’ is worth more than any burnt offerings and sacrifices.
- I intend to prove the holiness of my great name which has been profaned among the nations, and which you have profaned among them. Thus, the nations will know that I am the Lord, says the Lord God, when through you I will display my holiness in their sight.
The way of God is blameless,
and the Lord’s promise proves true;
he is a shield to all
who flee to him for safety. And let the peace of Christ reign in your hearts, because it was for this that you were called together in one body. Always be thankful.Next verse! With image
