- This is the message we have heard from him and proclaim to you, that God is light and in him there is no darkness at all.

they comfort me. - No one after lighting a lamp hides it under a jar, or puts it under a bed, but puts it on a lampstand, so that those who enter may see the light.
- O God, you are my God, I seek you,
my soul thirsts for you;
my flesh faints for you,
as in a dry and weary land where there is no water. - So faith by itself, if it has no works, is dead.
- Let no one despise your youth, but set the believers an example in speech and conduct, in love, in faith, in purity.
- The young lions suffer want and hunger,
but those who seek the Lord lack no good thing. - So acknowledge today and take to heart that the Lord is God in heaven above and on the earth beneath; there is no other.
- By contrast, the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against such things.
- Now, let the fear of the Lord be upon you; take care what you do, for there is no perversion of justice with the Lord our God, or partiality, or taking of bribes.
