- The Lord is on my side;
I will not fear.
What can man do to me? - Your word I have hidden in my heart,
That I might not sin against You. - He only is my rock and my salvation;
He is my defense;
I shall not be moved. - Therefore let us not sleep, as others do, but let us watch and be sober.
- “For My thoughts are not your thoughts,
Nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord. - Are not five sparrows sold for two copper coins? And not one of them is forgotten before God. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Do not fear therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows.
- But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
- Incline my heart to Your testimonies,
And not to covetousness. - My little children, let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth.
- Not lagging in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord.
- “If you will not hear,
And if you will not take it to heart,
To give glory to My name,”
Says the Lord of hosts,
“I will send a curse upon you,
And I will curse your blessings.
Yes, I have cursed them already,
Because you do not take it to heart.” - But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.
- Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
- Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse.
- Lord, all my desire is before You;
And my sighing is not hidden from You. - Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.
- You shall not covet your neighbor’s house; you shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, nor his male servant, nor his female servant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor anything that is your neighbor’s.
- The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.
- You shall not hate your brother in your heart. You shall surely rebuke your neighbor, and not bear sin because of him. You shall not take vengeance, nor bear any grudge against the children of your people, but you shall love your neighbor as yourself: I am the Lord.
- Train up a child in the way he should go,
And when he is old he will not depart from it. - Have you not known?
Have you not heard?
The everlasting God, the Lord,
The Creator of the ends of the earth,
Neither faints nor is weary.
His understanding is unsearchable. - Do not overwork to be rich;
Because of your own understanding, cease! - While we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.
- These you may eat of all that are in the waters: you may eat all that have fins and scales. And whatever does not have fins and scales you shall not eat; it is unclean for you.
- Are not two sparrows sold for a copper coin? And not one of them falls to the ground apart from your Father’s will. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Do not fear therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows.
