Only (3/4)

  • We are bound to thank God always for you, brethren, as it is meet, because that your faith groweth exceedingly, and the charity of every one of you all toward each other aboundeth.
  • Remove far from me vanity and lies:
    give me neither poverty nor riches;
feed me with food convenient for me.
  • Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
  • But who am I, and what is my people, that we should be able to offer so willingly after this sort? for all things come of thee, and of thine own have we given thee.
  • But thou, when thou fastest, anoint thine head, and wash thy face; That thou appear not unto men to fast, but unto thy Father which is in secret: and thy Father, which seeth in secret, shall reward thee openly.
  • God setteth the solitary in families:
he bringeth out those which are bound with chains:
but the rebellious dwell in a dry land.
  • Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
all the days of my life:
and I will dwell in the house of the Lord
    for ever.
  • Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.
  • But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more.
  • It is an honour for a man to cease from strife:
but every fool will be meddling.
  • He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good;
and what doth the Lord require of thee,
but to do justly, and to love mercy,
and to walk humbly with thy God?
  • For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth.
  • For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.
  • For if ye throughly amend your ways and your doings; if ye throughly execute judgment between a man and his neighbour; If ye oppress not the stranger, the fatherless, and the widow, and shed not innocent blood in this place, neither walk after other gods to your hurt: Then will I cause you to dwell in this place, in the land that I gave to your fathers, for ever and ever.
  • But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him.
  • Envy thou not the oppressor,
and choose none of his ways.
For the froward is abomination to the Lord:
but his secret is with the righteous.
  • But this thing commanded I them, saying, Obey my voice, and I will be your God, and ye shall be my people: and walk ye in all the ways that I have commanded you, that it may be well unto you.
  • A fool despiseth his father's instruction:
but he that regardeth reproof is prudent.
  • That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
  • Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.
  • Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
  • And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the Lord thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth.
  • But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
  • For in much wisdom is much grief:
and he that increaseth knowledge increaseth sorrow.
  • And now, Israel, what doth the Lord thy God require of thee, but to fear the Lord thy God, to walk in all his ways, and to love him, and to serve the Lord thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul, To keep the commandments of the Lord, and his statutes, which I command thee this day for thy good?

And if ye do good to them which do good to you, what thank have ye? for sinners also do even the same.
