| But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it. | But if we look forward to something we don’t yet have, we must wait patiently and confidently. |
| Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. | For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. |

Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. |
| Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer. | Rejoice in our confident hope. Be patient in trouble, and keep on praying. |

| The Lord shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace. | The Lord himself will fight for you. Just stay calm. |
| The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. | The Lord isn’t really being slow about his promise, as some people think. No, he is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to be destroyed, but wants everyone to repent. |
| For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning. | For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime! Weeping may last through the night, but joy comes with the morning. |
| My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O Lord; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up. | Listen to my voice in the morning, Lord. Each morning I bring my requests to you and wait expectantly. |
