| But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it. | But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience. |

It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful. |
| Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer. | Rejoice in hope, be patient in suffering, persevere in prayer. |
| And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. | So let us not grow weary in doing what is right, for we will reap at harvest time, if we do not give up. |

| The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. | The Lord is not slow about his promise, as some think of slowness, but is patient with you, not wanting any to perish, but all to come to repentance. |
| For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning. | For his anger is but for a moment; his favor is for a lifetime. Weeping may linger for the night, but joy comes with the morning. |
| My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O Lord; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up. | O Lord, in the morning you hear my voice; in the morning I plead my case to you, and watch. |
