- And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered. And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.
- But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints.
- To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.
- And if thou say in thine heart, How shall we know the word which the Lord hath not spoken? When a prophet speaketh in the name of the Lord, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the Lord hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him.
- And he sat down, and called the twelve, and saith unto them, If any man desire to be first, the same shall be last of all, and servant of all.
- Since thou wast precious in my sight,
thou hast been honourable, and I have loved thee:
therefore will I give men for thee,
and people for thy life. - I wait for the Lord, my soul doth wait,
and in his word do I hope. - A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.
- It is better to trust in the Lord
than to put confidence in man. - For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love.
- Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
- Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart,
all ye that hope in the Lord. - But I will sing of thy power;
yea, I will sing aloud of thy mercy in the morning:
for thou hast been my defence
and refuge in the day of my trouble. - And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
- The Lord is my portion, saith my soul;
therefore will I hope in him. - But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.
- Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear.
- Therefore I will look unto the Lord;
I will wait for the God of my salvation:
my God will hear me. - I will love thee, O Lord, my strength.
The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer;
my God, my strength, in whom I will trust;
my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower. - In God I will praise his word,
in God I have put my trust;
I will not fear what flesh can do unto me. - And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee:
for thou, Lord, hast not forsaken them that seek thee. - But thou, when thou fastest, anoint thine head, and wash thy face; That thou appear not unto men to fast, but unto thy Father which is in secret: and thy Father, which seeth in secret, shall reward thee openly.
- I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth.
- But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.
- Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
The Lord is good,
a strong hold in the day of trouble;
and he knoweth them that trust in him.Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another. Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good.Next verse!With image
