Bible Verses about 'Possession'

  • Now therefore, if you obey my voice and keep my covenant, you shall be my treasured possession out of all the peoples. Indeed, the whole earth is mine.
  • They shall be mine, says the Lord of hosts, my special possession on the day when I act, and I will spare them as parents spare their children who serve them.
  • But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God's own people, in order that you may proclaim the mighty acts of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.
  • Who is a God like you, pardoning iniquity
    and passing over the transgression
    of the remnant of your possession?
    He does not retain his anger forever,
    because he delights in showing clemency.
  • He it is who gave himself for us that he might redeem us from all iniquity and purify for himself a people of his own who are zealous for good deeds.
  • For not by their own sword did they win the land,
    nor did their own arm give them victory;
    but your right hand, and your arm,
    and the light of your countenance,
    for you delighted in them.
  • And he said to them, “Take care! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; for one's life does not consist in the abundance of possessions.”
  • Jesus said to him, “If you wish to be perfect, go, sell your possessions, and give the money to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; then come, follow me.”
  • Likewise all to whom God gives wealth and possessions and whom he enables to enjoy them, and to accept their lot and find enjoyment in their toil—this is the gift of God.
  • Now the whole group of those who believed were of one heart and soul, and no one claimed private ownership of any possessions, but everything they owned was held in common.
  • In fulfillment of his own purpose he gave us birth by the word of truth, so that we would become a kind of first fruits of his creatures.
  • If I give away all my possessions, and if I hand over my body so that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.
  • If you obey the commandments of the Lord your God that I am commanding you today, by loving the Lord your God, walking in his ways, and observing his commandments, decrees, and ordinances, then you shall live and become numerous, and the Lord your God will bless you in the land that you are entering to possess.
  • The beginning of wisdom is this: Get wisdom,
    and whatever else you get, get insight.
  • How does God's love abide in anyone who has the world's goods and sees a brother or sister in need and yet refuses help?
  • Honor the Lord with your substance
    and with the first fruits of all your produce.
  • For all that is in the world—the desire of the flesh, the desire of the eyes, the pride in riches—comes not from the Father but from the world.

You who live in the shelter of the Most High,
who abide in the shadow of the Almighty,
will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress;
