- The eyes of the Lord watch over those who do right;
his ears are open to their cries for help. - So just as sin ruled over all people and brought them to death, now God’s wonderful grace rules instead, giving us right standing with God and resulting in eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
- Dear brothers and sisters, we can’t help but thank God for you, because your faith is flourishing and your love for one another is growing.
- God blesses those who are persecuted for doing right,
for the Kingdom of Heaven is theirs. - O Lord, I have come to you for protection;
don’t let me be disgraced.
Save me, for you do what is right. - But those who do what is right come to the light so others can see that they are doing what God wants.
- Then the Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper who is just right for him.”
- Those who are victorious will sit with me on my throne, just as I was victorious and sat with my Father on his throne.
- Now, who will want to harm you if you are eager to do good?
- For no one can ever be made right with God by doing what the law commands. The law simply shows us how sinful we are.
- But God has protected me right up to this present time so I can testify to everyone, from the least to the greatest. I teach nothing except what the prophets and Moses said would happen— that the Messiah would suffer and be the first to rise from the dead, and in this way announce God’s light to Jews and Gentiles alike.
- God alone, who gave the law, is the Judge. He alone has the power to save or to destroy. So what right do you have to judge your neighbor?
- You say, “I am allowed to do anything”—but not everything is good for you. And even though “I am allowed to do anything,” I must not become a slave to anything.
- You say, “I am allowed to do anything”—but not everything is good for you. You say, “I am allowed to do anything”—but not everything is beneficial.
- Better to have little, with godliness,
than to be rich and dishonest. - For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ.
- For Christ has already accomplished the purpose for which the law was given. As a result, all who believe in him are made right with God.
- In the night I search for you;
in the morning I earnestly seek you.
For only when you come to judge the earth
will people learn what is right. - Therefore, since we have been made right in God’s sight by faith, we have peace with God because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has done for us.
- I do not treat the grace of God as meaningless. For if keeping the law could make us right with God, then there was no need for Christ to die.
- For if you are trying to make yourselves right with God by keeping the law, you have been cut off from Christ! You have fallen away from God’s grace.
- Look at the proud!
They trust in themselves, and their lives are crooked.
But the righteous will live by their faithfulness to God. - “All right, you may test him,” the Lord said to Satan. “Do whatever you want with everything he possesses, but don’t harm him physically.” So Satan left the Lord’s presence.
- No discipline is enjoyable while it is happening—it’s painful! But afterward there will be a peaceful harvest of right living for those who are trained in this way.
- This Good News tells us how God makes us right in his sight. This is accomplished from start to finish by faith. As the Scriptures say, “It is through faith that a righteous person has life.”
