- We have sinned and done what is wrong, we have acted wickedly and rebelled, we have rejected your commandments and your laws.

about sin and righteousness and judgment. - To do what is right and just
is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice. - He is a rock, his deeds are perfect,
and all of his ways are just.
He is a God of truth who does no wrong;

I will never fall. - Then, after he had spoken to them, the Lord Jesus was taken up into heaven, and there he took his place at the right hand of God.

- However, if the wicked renounce all of the sins that they have committed and keep all my statutes and do what is right and just, they shall surely live; they shall not die.

therefore, he instructs sinners in his ways.
He guides the humble in what is right
and teaches them the path to follow. - Exalted at God’s right hand, he received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit and has poured out what you now see and hear.

causing the heart to rejoice.
The commands of the Lord are clear,
giving light to the eyes. - Do not fear, for I am with you;
do not be afraid, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and give you help,
I will uphold you with my victorious right hand. - Love cannot result in any harm to the neighbor; therefore, love is the fulfillment of the Law.
- You have given me the shield of your salvation;
your right hand sustains me,
and your goodness makes me great.
You broadened the path beneath me
so that my feet have never stumbled. - It was not their own swords that won them the land,
nor did their own arms make them victorious;
rather, it was your right hand and your arm
and the light of your face,
because you loved them. - If your right eye causes you to sin, tear it out and throw it away. It is preferable for you to lose one part of your body than to have your whole body thrown into Gehenna.

and he is faithful in everything he does. - Therefore, now I, Nebuchadnezzar,
praise and exalt and glorify
the King of heaven.
For all of his works are right,
and all of his ways are just.
Also, he is able to humble
all those who follow the path of pride. - But when you give alms, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing. Your almsgiving must be done in secret. And your Father who sees everything that is done in secret will reward you.
- With our eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith. For the sake of the joy that lay before him, he endured the cross, ignoring its shame, and is now seated at the right hand of the throne of God.
- He is the reflection of God’s glory
and the perfect expression of his very being,
sustaining all things by his powerful word.
Achieving purification from sins,
he took his seat at the right hand of the Majesty on high. - They stripped him and put a scarlet robe on him, and after twisting some thorns into a crown, they placed it on his head and put a reed in his right hand. Then, bending the knee before him, they mocked him, saying, “Hail, King of the Jews!”
- Yet even if you should suffer for doing what is right, you are thereby blessed. Have no fear of others, and refuse to be intimidated by them.

who speaks the truth from the heart

As for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.
- The Lord has told you, O man, what is good.
And what does the Lord require of you?
Only this: to do what is right, to show mercy,
and to walk humbly with your God. - Let those who are wise understand these words,
and let the prudent acknowledge them.
For straight are the ways of the Lord;
the upright walk in them,
but sinners stumble. - Brethren, we must always give thanks to God for you, and it is only right that we do so. For your faith grows ever more, and the love that all of you have for one another continues to increase.
- Now who is going to harm you if you are eager to do what is right?
- Let us never grow weary in doing what is right, for if we do not give up, we will reap our harvest in due time.
- Because the sentence for committing an evil act is not carried out quickly, people’s hearts are prone to act wickedly.
- You call me ‘Teacher’ and ‘Lord,’
and rightly so,
for that is what I am. - I have instructed you in the ways of wisdom
and led you along the paths of righteousness. - Let your eyes look straight ahead;
fix your gaze on what lies before you. - For light produces all goodness and righteousness and truth.
- Make sure that no one pays back evil for evil. Rather, always aim to achieve what is best for each other and for everyone.
- Then you will understand equity and justice
as well as righteousness—every good path. - Grant justice to the weak and the orphan;
defend the rights of the lowly and the poor.
