Rise up (3/4)

  • But whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never be thirsty again. The water that I will give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.
  • And he is the head of the body, the church. He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in everything he might be preeminent.
  • The Lord makes poor and makes rich;
    he brings low and he exalts.
  • But the tax collector, standing far off, would not even lift up his eyes to heaven, but beat his breast, saying, ‘God, be merciful to me, a sinner!’
  • But you, beloved, building yourselves up in your most holy faith and praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in the love of God, waiting for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ that leads to eternal life.
  • Live as people who are free, not using your freedom as a cover-up for evil, but living as servants of God.
  • Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her, that he might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word.
  • But you, O Lord, are a shield about me,
    my glory, and the lifter of my head.
  • And whoever does not take his cross and follow me is not worthy of me.

    believed on in the world,
    taken up in glory.
  • The Lord bless you and keep you;
    the Lord make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you;
    the Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace.

  • I have stored up your word in my heart,
    that I might not sin against you.
  • For it is you who light my lamp;
    the Lord my God lightens my darkness.
  • Then Peter came up and said to him, “Lord, how often will my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? As many as seven times?” Jesus said to him, “I do not say to you seven times, but seventy-seven times.”
  • Anxiety in a man's heart weighs him down,
    but a good word makes him glad.
  • Turn back, and say to Hezekiah the leader of my people, Thus says the Lord, the God of David your father: I have heard your prayer; I have seen your tears. Behold, I will heal you. On the third day you shall go up to the house of the Lord.
  • Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm.

  • No weapon that is fashioned against you shall succeed,
    and you shall refute every tongue that rises against you in judgment.
    This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord
    and their vindication from me, declares the Lord.
  • Truly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says will come to pass, it will be done for him.
  • And in Hades, being in torment, he lifted up his eyes and saw Abraham far off and Lazarus at his side. And he called out, ‘Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus to dip the end of his finger in water and cool my tongue, for I am in anguish in this flame.’
