Rise up (2/4)

  • A cheerful heart is a good medicine,
    but a downcast spirit dries up the bones.
  • He who did not withhold his own Son, but gave him up for all of us, will he not with him also give us everything else?
  • When God raised up his servant, he sent him first to you, to bless you by turning each of you from your wicked ways.
  • I lift up my eyes to the hills—
    from where will my help come?
    My help comes from the Lord,
    who made heaven and earth.
  • And taking the five loaves and the two fish, he looked up to heaven, and blessed and broke them, and gave them to the disciples to set before the crowd. And all ate and were filled. What was left over was gathered up, twelve baskets of broken pieces.
  • Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust consume and where thieves break in and steal; but store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust consumes and where thieves do not break in and steal.
  • He stores up sound wisdom for the upright;
    he is a shield to those who walk blamelessly.
  • Therefore encourage one another and build up each other, as indeed you are doing.
  • So let us not grow weary in doing what is right, for we will reap at harvest time, if we do not give up.
  • And, fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.
  • And whoever does not take up the cross and follow me is not worthy of me.
  • But you, O Lord, are a shield around me,
    my glory, and the one who lifts up my head.
  • While he was going and they were gazing up toward heaven, suddenly two men in white robes stood by them. They said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking up toward heaven? This Jesus, who has been taken up from you into heaven, will come in the same way as you saw him go into heaven.”
  • It is you who light my lamp;
    the Lord, my God, lights up my darkness.
  • The Lord opens the eyes of the blind.
    The Lord lifts up those who are bowed down;
    the Lord loves the righteous.
  • Anxiety weighs down the human heart,
    but a good word cheers it up.
  • He called the crowd with his disciples, and said to them, “If any want to become my followers, let them deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me.”
  • But speaking the truth in love, we must grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ.
  • O how abundant is your goodness
    that you have laid up for those who fear you,
    and accomplished for those who take refuge in you,
    in the sight of everyone!
  • Nothing is covered up that will not be uncovered, and nothing secret that will not become known.
  • Because your steadfast love is better than life,
    my lips will praise you.
    So I will bless you as long as I live;
    I will lift up my hands and call on your name.
  • And live in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.
  • Let me hear of your steadfast love in the morning,
    for in you I put my trust.
    Teach me the way I should go,
    for to you I lift up my soul.
  • Blessed be the Lord,
    who daily bears us up;
    God is our salvation. Selah
  • And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Also another book was opened, the book of life. And the dead were judged according to their works, as recorded in the books. And the sea gave up the dead that were in it, Death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them, and all were judged according to what they had done.

Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will exalt you.
