| And when you fast, do not look gloomy like the hypocrites, for they disfigure their faces that their fasting may be seen by others. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward. | Moreover when ye fast, be not, as the hypocrites, of a sad countenance: for they disfigure their faces, that they may appear unto men to fast. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. |
| “The Lord is my portion,” says my soul, “therefore I will hope in him.” | The Lord is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him. |
| Then Peter came up and said to him, “Lord, how often will my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? As many as seven times?” Jesus said to him, “I do not say to you seven times, but seventy-seven times.” | Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times? Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven. |
| Seek good, and not evil, that you may live; and so the Lord, the God of hosts, will be with you, as you have said. | Seek good, and not evil, that ye may live: and so the Lord, the God of hosts, shall be with you, as ye have spoken. |
