Scripture on go light your world (2/4)

  • Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am meek and humble of heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.
  • However, whoever lives by the truth
    comes to the light
    so that it may be clearly seen
    that his deeds have been done in God.
  • This is the message
    that we have heard from him
    and that we declare to you:
    God is light,
    and there is no darkness at all in him.
  • It was not their own swords that won them the land,
    nor did their own arms make them victorious;
    rather, it was your right hand and your arm
    and the light of your face,
    because you loved them.
  • The Lord is my light and my salvation;
    whom should I fear?
    The Lord is the stronghold of my life;
    of whom should I be afraid?
  • Jesus said to him, “Go on your way! Your faith has made you well.” Immediately, he received his sight and followed him along the road.
  • Our temporary light afflictions are preparing for us an incomparable weight of eternal glory.
  • If the world hates you,
    be aware that it hated me
    before it hated you.
  • For so has the Lord commanded us to do, saying,
    ‘I have made you a light for the Gentiles
    so that you may bring salvation
    to the farthest corners of the earth.’
  • I have told you this
    so that in me you may be in peace.
    In the world
    you will endure suffering.
    But take courage!
    I have overcome the world.
  • May I never boast of anything except the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world is crucified to me and I to the world.
  • Do not associate with unbelievers. For what basis can there be for a partnership between righteousness and lawlessness? What do light and darkness have in common?
  • For everything that is in the world—
    the concupiscence of the flesh,
    the concupiscence of the eyes,
    and the pride of life—
    comes not from the Father
    but from the world.
  • What does it profit a man to gain the whole world and forfeit his very life?
  • Adulterers! Do you not know that love of the world results in enmity with God? Therefore, whoever wishes to be a lover of the world makes himself an enemy of God.
  • The earth is the Lord’s and everything in it,
    the world and all who live in it.
  • Fix your thoughts on things that are above, not on things that are on the earth.
  • Nevertheless, I am telling you the truth:
    it is better for you that I depart.
    For if I do not go away,
    the Advocate will not come to you,
    whereas if I go,
    I will send him to you.
  • Who indeed conquers the world
    except the one who believes
    that Jesus is the Son of God?
  • Go forth, then. Eat your bread with joy and drink your wine with a cheerful heart, for God long ago approved what you do.
  • And when he comes,
    he will prove the world wrong
    about sin and righteousness and judgment.
  • Peace I leave with you,
    my peace I give to you.
    Not as the world gives
    do I give it to you.
    Do not let your hearts be troubled;
    be not afraid.
  • But you are “a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people claimed by God as his own possession,” so that you may proclaim the praise of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.
  • Jesus then said to her, “Do not hold on to me, because I have not yet ascended to my Father. But go to my brethren and tell them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’ ”
  • I am not asking you
    to take them out of the world,
    but I do ask you
    to protect them from the evil one.

And the world with all its enticements
is passing away,
but whoever does the will of God
abides forever.

Bible verse of the day

Rather, revere Christ as Lord in your hearts.
Always be prepared to offer an explanation to anyone who asks you to justify the hope that is in you. However, do so with gentleness and respect.
