I, the Lord, search the heart
and probe the mind
to reward all according to their conduct
and as their deeds deserve. - But if you seek the Lord, your God, and you strive with all your heart and your soul, you will find him there.
- As Scripture asserts, “No one who believes in him will be put to shame.”
- And every day, both in the temple and at home, they never stopped teaching and proclaiming Jesus as the Christ.
- I have not strayed from the commandments of his lips;
I have treasured in my heart the words of his mouth. - Every day, united in spirit, they would assemble together in the temple. They would break bread in their homes and share their food with joyful and generous hearts as they praised God, and they were regarded with favor by all the people. And day by day the Lord added to those who were being saved.

seek his face continually. - Whoever believes in me,
as Scripture has said,
‘Streams of living water
shall flow from within him.’ - For this reason
a man shall leave his father and mother
and be joined to his wife,
and the two shall become one flesh. - Seek the Lord and his strength,
seek his face continually. - Jesus answered, “As it is written:
‘Man does not live by bread alone,
but by every word that comes forth from the mouth of God.’ ” - Shun evil and do good;
seek peace and pursue it. - This is
‘the stone rejected by you, the builders,
that has become the cornerstone.’ - For:
“If anyone wishes to love life
and to experience good days,
he must restrain his tongue from evil
and his lips from deceitful speech.
He must turn away from evil and do good,
seek peace and pursue it.” - For it is written,
“As I live, says the Lord,
every knee shall bow before me,
and every tongue shall give praise to God.” - Blessed are those who observe his statutes
and seek him with their whole heart. - But according to Scripture all things have been confined under sin, so that through faith in Jesus Christ what was promised might be given to those who believe.
- He who called you is holy. Therefore, be holy yourselves in all your conduct. For Scripture says, “Be holy, for I am holy.”
- Dearly beloved, never seek revenge. Leave that to the time of retribution. For it is written, “Vengeance is mine, says the Lord. I will repay.”
- For as it is written,
“Eye has not seen, ear has not heard,
nor has the human heart imagined
what God has prepared for those who love him.” - Those who revere your name place their trust in you,
for you never abandon those who seek you, O Lord. - Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened to you.
- Then the other disciple who had reached the tomb first also went inside, and he saw and believed. They still did not understand the Scripture indicating that he must rise from the dead.
- In it the righteousness of God is revealed, beginning in faith and established in faith. As it is written: “The one who is righteous will live through faith.”
- If anyone would boast, let him boast in the Lord. For it is not the one who commends himself who is really approved, but the one whom the Lord commends.

My soul yearns for you
and my body thirsts for you,
like the earth when it is parched,
arid and without water. - He replied, “Have you not read that from the beginning the Creator ‘made them male and female’ and said: ‘That is why a man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two become one flesh’? And so they are no longer two but one flesh. Therefore, what God has joined together, let no one separate.”
- One day, as Jesus was passing through a field of grain on the Sabbath, his disciples began to pick some heads of grain as they walked along. The Pharisees said to him, “Behold, why are your disciples doing what is forbidden on the Sabbath?”
He answered, “Have you never read what David did when he and his companions were hungry and in need of food? He entered the house of God when Abiathar was high priest and ate the sacred bread that only the priests were permitted to eat, and he shared it with his companions.” Then he said to them, “The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath. That is why the Son of Man is Lord even of the Sabbath.”
