- And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me.
- If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honour.
- Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world.
- If ye love me, keep my commandments.
- Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you.
- Thou hast also given me the shield of thy salvation:
and thy right hand hath holden me up,
and thy gentleness hath made me great.
Thou hast enlarged my steps under me,
that my feet did not slip. - In thee, O Lord, do I put my trust;
let me never be ashamed:
deliver me in thy righteousness. - And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.
- And I fell unto the ground, and heard a voice saying unto me, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?
- Heal me, O Lord, and I shall be healed;
save me, and I shall be saved:
for thou art my praise. - Except the Lord build the house,
they labour in vain that build it:
except the Lord keep the city,
the watchman waketh but in vain. - Lead me in thy truth, and teach me:
for thou art the God of my salvation;
on thee do I wait all the day. - Thou art my hiding place;
thou shalt preserve me from trouble;
thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance. Selah. - I called upon the Lord in distress:
the Lord answered me, and set me in a large place. - Teach me to do thy will;
for thou art my God:
thy spirit is good;
lead me into the land of uprightness. - Who is a God like unto thee,
that pardoneth iniquity,
and passeth by the transgression
of the remnant of his heritage?
he retaineth not his anger for ever,
because he delighteth in mercy. - Yet the Lord will command his lovingkindness in the day time,
and in the night his song shall be with me,
and my prayer unto the God of my life. - Preserve me, O God:
for in thee do I put my trust. - For thou art my rock and my fortress;
therefore for thy name's sake lead me, and guide me. - The Lord is on my side; I will not fear:
what can man do unto me? - Then he took the five loaves and the two fishes, and looking up to heaven, he blessed them, and brake, and gave to the disciples to set before the multitude. And they did eat, and were all filled: and there was taken up of fragments that remained to them twelve baskets.
- Let every thing that hath breath praise the Lord.
Praise ye the Lord. - My times are in thy hand:
deliver me from the hand of mine enemies,
and from them that persecute me. - Thine, O Lord is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty: for all that is in the heaven and in the earth is thine; thine is the kingdom, O Lord, and thou art exalted as head above all.
- And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.
Set me as a seal upon thine heart,
as a seal upon thine arm:
for love is strong as death;
jealousy is cruel as the grave:
the coals thereof are coals of fire,
which hath a most vehement flame.But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.
